Broncoman's State of Origin thread of hope and despair

Bman if you bothered to get your facts right and not really on the "Journos" south of the border hyperbole you would know that Qld spat because of Gallens thug shot swinging arm, cheap shots, BS reasons to the ref and his comments the following days.

Gordie has come out saying he regrets the punch ons and is embarrassed his kids saw the footage.

Geez I wouldn't be embarrassed by that, he flogged him!! :thumbup1: Now that sort of aggression (without losing control) is what the current Broncos side (minus McGuire) is lacking. Bring some of that back!!

Back on Origin, I agree, Gal should have been binned in Game I whichever way you look at it - you can't throw punches, period. The overreaction in Game 2 was a direct result of the lack of reaction in Game I. Absolute BS.

2x players have thrown punches in this series. Both from NSW. Yet both sides have had 2x players binned. Go figure.

If QLD get on top again, I fully expect a Blue to once again lose their cool. The reaction from the refs will be interesting.

What do you think of Daley's suggestion that the Blues should win the penalty count simply because the match is in Sydney? Here's a hot tip - if they play by the rules, they won't get penalised. Simple when you break it down, ain't it? I fucking hate these attempts to influence the refs - from both sides. Just fucking get on with it. Give us a fast, aggressive game without any whinging, and may the best team win. Sooner or later the Blues will get up, and I won't be surprised if it's tomorrow night.

Gutted, absolutely. Disappointed in that we have the better side and managed to lose, **** yes. But not surprised.

It wouldn't be a Wally Lewis comment without him saying "Dictate terms" :loool::loool:

As I have repeatedly said, both teams complain about the referee when they get beaten I didn't complain about the referee after Game 2 as the Maroons were simply far to good for us. I've got 2 words for Wally on the topic of this article

What an absolutely brilliant player Brett Kenny was wow the man has great skill.

Your living in the past man, contemporise man

Im watching the ultimate Origin collection, Game 2 1985

The Grasshopper cops a bad wrap because he rightfully trolled the NSW public for calling his credibility into question.

I believe it goes something like...

A reporter from New South Wales once asked: "How do you account for the fact that in your nine matches Queensland won seven and NSW won only two?", Gomersall was said to have replied "Well, surely anyone's entitled to two bad games."

Ironically the 2 games NSW won under his control were series clinchers (85 and 86).

GO THE BLUES.

I know you will do the state proud tonight no matter what the result is best of luck to every NSW player tonight.

Put Gallen, Hayne, Carney, Adam Reynolds and Sutton (bench) in the NSW team and it will not be an easy series whether we have 2 home games or not. Lewis was injured as well I think.

Imagine anyway if Dugan and Jennings had not dropped those sitters?

Great game, won on courage, flashes of brilliance and incredible one-on-one defence and with Inglis totally wasted. I can't get my head around why Mal doesn't use our most potent strike weapon. I'd have him at FB next year
