Broncoman's State of Origin thread of hope and despair

Great game, won on courage, flashes of brilliance and incredible one-on-one defence and with Inglis totally wasted. I can't get my head around why Mal doesn't use our most potent strike weapon. I'd have him at FB next year

GI was injured throughout most of the game last night.....so he wasn't exactly wasted. He showed typical QLD'r resilience to stay on the field, after what is now being reported as torn ligaments?

I'd been calling for him to move to FB since last year, pretty much after game 1 in Melbourne when NSW smashed Slater everytime he ran back the ball.

We just need to settle on a replacement centre and move Slater out onto the wing.....

Personally I thought QLD's reaction to the Gallen-Myles punch up was a dummy spit because their team got beaten.

You think it's ok to punch someone multiple times in the head while they're not watching?

But that's fine. THey can keep doing things to piss Queenslanders off.

Chambers to centre

I'd like to think Chambers could be the answer .......and just when I think I'm sold on him, he comes up with a poor game, particularly in defence.

Gagai is most likely next in line. I feel the same about him though. ie: not confident.

Chambers is way higher up the pecking order than Gagai i would assume. gagais played a bunch of very good games, then some sod ordinary ones. chambers has been consistently better for much longer.

When there are 2 games in Melbourne QLD are playing 2 home games as the Melbourne game is an unofficial QLD home game as everyone there supports QLD on the basis of Slater, Smith and Cronk and the bandwagoners wanting to go for winners.

And the fact that the alternative of that is to go for NSW and no one wants to do that?

Nah, it's really that no one else likes NSW'kers. :001_tt2:

It doesn't have much to do with that, it's more to do with the fact that New South Wales and Victoria have always been rivals - mainly due to the whole Sydney vs Melbourne thing.

That obviously plays a factor but the Storm influence in the Maroons certainly does help their cause. Why does Sydney and Melbourne hate each other so much in the first place?

Both cities are shitholes.......and both cities residents like to think of themselves as kings of shit.

Whoever decided to install Canberra as the nations capital was a genius, as it knocked the piss out of both of them.

I like to think it was a QLD'r .......:winky:
