I always wanted Parker as captain, hodges form and leadership warrants a role however to sack a captain not sure how I feel about it. I hope this doesnt lead to a headline 'Thaiday asks to leave to return to north queensland' over next few months

And as far as I'm concerned if he slacks off again this year we should just release him.

I like the idea of Parker as captain of the forwards and Hodgo captain of the backs.

Would have liked Parker as captain with Thaiday as VC personally. Cushions the blow and allows him to still do some of the media stuff, which he is good at imo.

I seriously think that is to cover their asses from media down the track. Now, there won't be headlines to say that "Thaiday wants to leave after being sacked as captain." It will now die down as it was 'his' choice. Personally, I think he did indeed get the tap on the shoulder from Hook, but is being told to say that he 'stood down' rather than being sacked. To me its just a media cover up.
