Broncos Player Movement and Rumours 2016

To be fair, I think we tried pretty hard to sign a big forward, those Napa & James rumours don't just come out of nowhere, I'd say we just missed the boat. In some better news, we have a lot of contracts off our books next year, so next years off-season is going to be insane, we should have a LOT of off-contract players and a LOT of cap space.

As long as we're able to keep our spine together Im happy

Bit unrelated but, does anyone know or have heard any rumours about ISC or Nike for our jersey next year?

Read somewhere the deal for Benji would be $100,000.
Anyone know what he was on at the dragons?
He knocked down a $300,00 dollar extension because he thought he was worth more from dragons so don't know if this is true.

with dodds back in the fold i doubt much more could be done with the pack in time for 2016

i figure if anyone should be worried it'd have to be kevvie or alf. fairytale x 1000 in this bitch

I like the signing. 100k for a golden boot winner. Can keep prepare on milf and hunt. Would like to see how he goes as a utility, could see him carving up the forwards when they are tired as well as helping hunt with kicking. If the team is on top by rd 26 I can see wayne giving either hunt or milf a rest to give Benji his Swansong.

Can benji kick goals???

He used to kick for the West Tigers. Not sure if he was kicking for the Dragons this year, but he was an excellent goal kicker back in the day and his general field kicking is still better than anything we have atm...

I dunno but at least nobody is talking about Moga anymore.

I really think Moga could be a great signing if Wayne can get him playing to his potential and he doesn't get injured.

I think we missed the mark not seeking out Sam Moa before he signed with Catalans; unless we were chasing a Napa/James for next season at the time. Moa is definitely nearing the end of his career but he can still do damage with the ball and has a handy late-offload. If Wayne thinks we need a 'power' forward I think Matagi or Tagatese would compliment McGuire or Blair to start. I still feel like we are missing something in our pack. Hopefully, a massive pre-season from Ofahengaue, TPJ, and Ese'ese can get us where we need to be.

Moga's signing has been kept relatively quiet. Zero Tackle and wiki have him signed but I haven't seen any news.

I don't believe that for a second. Marshall thinks way too much of himself to take a deal at any club that wasn't going to play him in the 17.

I'd take Lolohea over Marshall at this point.

Some desperate, idiotic club like the Dragons will snap Lolohea up on 500k plus.

I'm not suggesting anything, but as a five-eighth, Benji is better than Milford. Benji possesses a more well rounded game as a five-eighth with his superior kicking game, superior ball-playing ability, as well as better game management. That's not saying Benji is currently a better player than Milford, but what he offers could be something we need.

The only problem is fitting three into two, which is why I don't get this signing at all. Benji only really excels at five-eighth, and can fill in at halfback if required, so he's not really a utility. I think Benji is still good enough to play NRL, and the Dragons style of play never showcased his ability, but I still don't think we need him. I also feel it is a waste to play him in the Q Cup.

However, Benji and Hunt are a far better halves pairing than Benji and Milford, but is it better than Hunt and Milford?
The only other option I see which could benefit the team, which I must say is virtually impossible, is Milford at fullback, Marshall at five-eighth and Hunt at halfback, which would mean Boyd, who was our best player, misses out. It would give us a superior kicking game no doubt, and maybe even better ball-playing, as well as relieve Milford of the playmaking duties which would force him to focus on his running game a lot more, which is definitely his strength, but overall Is that better than what we currently have?

It's certainly not good for our long term future if we're changing halves. But if we're looking for more depth in the halves, I'd still much rather Lolohea who can play every position in the backline as well. Personally, I'm not sure what Bennett's thinking here.

From what I remember, it won't be Nike. I really hope we get ISC. Regardless, I still want the 2015 Heritage Jersey as our main jersey forever. If only so I can buy one (I also believe not wearing it cost us the GF)

Some part of me is annoyed that we have a has been on our books and it feels a little desperate for the proud Broncs.

But another part of me is pumped that we have a little bit of quality as back up if serious injuries happen in the halves.

I like KNic. But I have a little more faith in Benji to do a job if shit goes down.
