putting that team list together, i realised we could use a bit more depth in the prop department so:

off contract end of 2021

Josh Aloiai from the Tigers
Dunamis Lui from the Raiders
Isaac Lui from Roosters

could all be worth a look

Staggs (although it says he has a PO for 2022)

Oh boy would love to sign Stephen Crichton. Penrith will want to hold onto him at all costs but may struggle due to salary cap/rising stars in that side.

If Allan and SuA can come back, that puts the side in a very nice direction for next season already.
I’m not a fan of Allan... I generally reckon you could grab 5 or 6 better fullbacks than him off the top of my mind that could be gettable

Tristan Sailor (speaks for itself)

Bevan French (killing it in super league and reportedly wants to move back to Aus)

Hamiso (unlikely to be an achievable signing but still possible)

Tex Hoy (definitely realistic cause I don’t see him cracking fullback or halves anytime soon if you chuck an offer at him it may be to promising to turn down)

Daine Laurie (can’t see him surpassing edwards young and upcoming does have some attacking flair

Israel Folau (Its a long shot and would probably get shut down but if he was to play fullback he could do great things)

Doesn’t Folau turn 40 next year?

Chrichton looks to be one of the better young backs in the game and has had a great season but I think Panthers would lose Whare and Naden before letting him go...he is also a local lad and is not looking for a reason to leave. Be easier to pick at any worthwhile scraps from clubs that are caught paying overs to retain the Crichtons of the league.

All pipe dreams really. Our recruitment team via Darren Lockyer has recently announced there to be none in the short term. Might be just a ploy to hold off current players management seeking out of reach upgrades.
But I am more then happy for them to sit on their hands and wait for whoever our saviour might be to get them out of the hole they continue to dig for themselves.
I just hope I don’t have to wait too long.

With luck we really only need a good 9.
Bird as 1 Milf comes good Dearden . Turpin can do a job but an upgrade at 9 would be good.
I still have a small hope KW can get the best from Issako as well.

His numbers are good but he isn't a scary prop which is what we need . Physical impact, someone to fear either in attack or defence. We have enough numbers guys in the side now. We don't have a JWH type which is what we need.
Also where the **** are our giant fijian wingers who play for a pie and Pepsi max. Melb lose 1 and replace him with another. Parra lose 1 and same deal.
I think this post is the same as everyone else who just keeps missing the point on Tolman.

Yes, JWH is better. Yes, Bromwich is better. Yes, Nathan Brown is better.

NONE of them are coming to Brisbane for 200-300k though. Not even remotely close. It's not comparing apples for apples.

No one is saying Tolman would solve every one of our problems or be our Forward leader because he obviously wouldn't and he isn't that type of player.

What he is though is a no frills, low maintenance professional who does his job incredibly reliably and is one of the more effective tacklers in the competition. He also provides a level of off-field professionalism that is sorely missing from out current roster. The other key stipulation is that he would need to come cheaply, because like with all successful sides, you need a mix of gun talent on big money combined with guys who are prepared to play for around or even slightly less than they are worth. If you want the likes of Munster in 2022, you need to have a few guys like Tolman or Opacic on your books to help balance things out under the cap.

I, and I'm sure @Wolfie and the other Tolman advocates would all prefer a gun Prop in the mould of JWH, but for the sort of money we're talking about and the job he would need to do, Aiden Tolman fits the bill about as perfectly as anyone else you could nominate for 2021.

Where would he play at the cows? Would be a crazy move for him. They have fullbacks galore, Hammer and Feldt on the wings, Drinkwater, Morgan, Clifford, Hampton trying to be squeezed in the halves.

We are literally perfect for him given the positions that he specialises in playing - and that's before you consider the famous surname he possesses in the context of our club.

Would be a perfect fit for both player and club, which means it won't happen.

Unless of course the Cows are losing a couple or are under cap pressure which is quite possible considering their roster. As I've said previously Drinkwater is the man we should be asking about to play fullback even though he is under contract next year. He is the odd man out and the Cows may need to make that cap space.
