I don't see how it's possible that Bird can play lock; his injuries are now systemic apparently, particularly his sternum. he wouldn't last half a season in the forwards without breaking...

I think his remaining future at the club is in the back line.

Besides which, if Walters wants the old attacking Broncos of old, then hes gunna have to take that money from the forwards and put it into the backline.

Which is funny because in a previous interview Kevvie specifically named Lodge as one of the players he'd worked well with and spoke about how Matt was constantly talking to him trying to get pointers and work to improve his game.

I'll also assume he will go on about the Burgess incident for months on end years later after Burgess has quit drugs and alcohol and served a 2 year ban while volunteering.

That's a stretch @Sproj . Hooper ( the piece of shit) said they are allegations only, unproven and one side of the story.
I think the Australian story is likely to be 99.9% accurate though.
The bigger story to come from this is how much Souths knew, who knew and to what lengths they deceived the NRL to cover up.

I'm loathed to defend Hooper but I completely accept that at this stage they are allegations only and particularly if you are in the media you need to be very clear about that until you have conclusive proof otherwise. I agree with you and I highly doubt The Australian would go to print so conclusively unless they had probably a number of aces up their sleeve in this sense already.

Fair enough, I just felt he went beyond questionning them as just allegations though, he seemed to imply (to me anyway) that it was a mixture of medications the doctor gave him and the issues from his wife in the marriage breakdown. I just felt he tried to defend Burgess a bit too far but more than happy for you to see it differently.

And to be fair, I just don't like Hooper, so my judgment is likely biased.
