Fair enough, I just felt he went beyond questionning them as just allegations though, he seemed to imply (to me anyway) that it was a mixture of medications the doctor gave him and the issues from his wife in the marriage breakdown. I just felt he tried to defend Burgess a bit too far but more than happy for you to see it differently.

And to be fair, I just don't like Hooper, so my judgment is likely biased.

I also do not like Hooper but also felt he was more defending Burgess rather than just remaining impartial. Bringing up a messy divorce and going to court for custody of the kids to suggest that this may be all to do with that is not remaining impartial.

This may be true, it may also be true that some/most of the details are untrue.
The problem I have with the Australian story as a principle is Burgess has now basically been tried in the court of public opinion.
The old story, dirt sticks.
Even if he wins in court this will now be mates in high places pulling strings et etc.
I can't stand Hooper at all FTR. Disliked him before he bullied Lara a few weeks back and even more so now

Unfortunately that's just the nature of the media. He isn't the first and he won't be the last. This wasn't just innuendo though. So many specific allegations with that level of detail suggests the journalists have done their homework and have a smoking gun or two up their sleeves.

At least in this case we're likely to get some legally binding outcomes given some of the stuff being alleged will be dealt with in court, not to mention some of the stuff involving the Souths club Dr might also end up being investigated by the Police.

Hoopers a bigger kunt than kent

The list is a mess and the board are a case study in design by committee.

If Kevvy can be that single point of responsibility making sensible decisions then surely the Broncs will have a speedy return to the top 8. Much like Wayne was and Pies wasn't. He could simply start with dropping senior players with poor attitudes and patchy form, which should have happened after the Eels finals defeat, that would get the Broncs 80% of the way back to success immediately.

That's a stretch @Sproj . Hooper ( the piece of shit) said they are allegations only, unproven and one side of the story.
I think the Australian story is likely to be 99.9% accurate though.
The bigger story to come from this is how much Souths knew, who knew and to what lengths they deceived the NRL to cover up.
Agreed.

The Australian isn’t some cheap gossip rag like the Courier. They fact check and vet their articles meticulously before they are published.

They fact they’ve published this and gone as hard as they have suggests to me they are supremely confident in the truth behind the article.

If so, Burgess is up shit creek.

If he does drop underperforming senior players, don't be surprised if those same players immediately start putting their feelers out to leave the club. That sort of indifferent, entitled attitude doesn't just disappear. They will take decent money to go to another perpetually weak side (probably the likes of the Warriors or Bulldogs) so they don't have to change a thing, they can just blend in with the rest of the nuffies.

Look, in the fair dinkum department, I'd have to agree with you here. He's up there with Weidler in the fuckwit stakes.

I feel that he's too similar to Lodge & Carrigan to be worth the investment.

If we're going to be bringing anyone in it should be a different type of player, either a shorter minute / high impact player (Leota, Paseka, Collins, etc) or a skillful forward with ballplaying and reliable offloading ability (Paulo, Tapine, Jazz, etc)

You’re right, but if he is coming in to replace Offa or Lodge then I think it would work. Of course the deal would have to be right( 450-500k), but he would add the starch out pack is lacking at the moment. He had some great games this season with the Cows and every time I watched him play I missed his intensity.
A player like Josh in my opinion is exactly what we need in a starting prop. It would allow us to play Haas of the bench for some real impact.

He has too much crap in his game. No Thanks.

I wonder if this was before or after Kent dedicated a full hour on what a vile human being Sam Burgess is and what a disgusting culture souffs has.. I'll also assume he will go on about the Burgess incident for months on end years later after Burgess has quit drugs and alcohol and served a 2 year ban while volunteering.

He's a stand up journalists who treats everyone the same with his ethical viewpoints so i m sure the above will happen seen as it happened to lodge...
In fairness Lodge was also convicted of the offenses
