Yep those first hit ups of every game where he got monsterd and pushed back 6 meters were awesome.

Not to mention his offloads off the first play of the game

Ha, that's right up there with one of the shitest things I've seen someone do in a game of rugby league.
I nearly threw a full stubby at the TV!!!

I remember the entire crowd groaned when it happened. I think everyone knew at that point, it wasn’t going to be our night.

One of the weakest things I’ve seen from a Bronco to be honest.

We didn't want to let Wallace go, it's just that we couldn't match the Titans offer.

How are teams like the knights, warriors and even the cowboys keep signing multiple players. Where as we can't seem to afford anyone.

The Cowboys have only signed one for next year

The Knights have signed players like Moga and SKD ... no thanks

but no idea how the Warriors do it

We should have some money to sign some players after we have

Hunt, Blair, Moga, Herman, Benji, Arrow all going

Even though we have signed Nona, Andre, Bird

Moga, Herman, Benji and Arrow were all on minimum contracts ... we wouldn't save a cent by losing them.

and Blair and Hunt were on decent, but not massive money as well. (and we may still keep Blair yet, although it seems unlikely).

and add to the Andre and Bird signing's a significant increase to Milford and decent upgrade of Boyd's contracts

I was right in front of that when that happened, knew then and there we were in real trouble there. Simple mistakes like that so early on in the match just set how the match is going to fold out. As a result heads were down, no communication whatsoever after the try was conceded to get their minds back on track. Nothing. It's so critical to get your first 2-3 sets(especially the first in your own half) spot on or your just asking for a world of hurt.

Exactly, by and large when it comes to those departing your not talking of players who were on substantial money outside of Blair and Hunt. Your talking players who are on the entry level or there about deals. So those departing or being cut doesn't exactly free up money when you still have to replace those players anyway with players who are willing to take similar deals. Your only really going to free up considerable amounts when your losing player or players on substantial amounts and even that that isn't considering if a large part of that money is needed to retain current players or sign someone your interested in.

Blair and Hunt, I like both players but good examples of players I wasn't willing to get into a bidding war over, not at the expense of the team as a whole. It may hurt us in the short term, but it may also present an opportunity to blood future talent that may be enticed to stay longer because of that opportunity not being blocked.

Because we also had a mountain of re-signings. Pretty much our whole squad. Including some decent upgrades for Milford, Roberts, McGuire, etc.

As for Blair’s offload, there have been occasions where he has done exactly the same thing off a kick-off and he’s put Milford away to score untouched. He had a poor last month or two for us, I’ll admit, but we have to remember to take the good with the bad on some of the more enterprising plays.

The problem now is milford isn't there to take the offload anymore. You'd think it'd be obvious to have your faster players to be following a notorious offloader all the time. James Roberts should do it like Chris walker used to. Teams were shitting themselves when walker came on.

First set in the game you got to complete it at all costs. Even more important first tackle in the game off our line you hit it up and hold onto that ball at all costs otherwise it kills your confidence. You got to know when to offload and when not to and quite frankly any player worth their money knows that offload in that situation was never on and it set in motion what was a horrible night for us. Blair has been an asset during his time at the Broncos but his had his share of issues as well, I think he will be missed should he leave but not to the extent most people here will make out.

I don't think he will be missed on field much at all.

They would have had money left to keep Hunt and Blair or upgrade them. Hunt might have been on 500k or something but they would have factored in close to 800k or a Mil to keep him there. Just because they are on a certain amount now, doesn't mean they weren't thinking ahead and creating cap space to retain them. Hunt left for more than Broncos could offer, so they used what Hunt would have potentially got to get Bird.

There was buzz going around he was being offered close to a million but Dragons offered a longer deal. Arrow, Ese, Blair, Benji and Moga are all quality and they would have liked to keep them all you would think, everyone else just offered more.

Which is also why the opposition doesn’t expect it and we’ve pulled their pants down before. Blair had 3 or 4 tacklers on him and had the pass gone to hands there would have been space to exploit. Unfortunately, it’s like I said when we had a couple of games where we were offloading at will and pulling defences apart - it’s great when the offloads stick but when it goes wrong it puts us under a lot of pressure. The Blair one was just the absolute worst case scenario come true.

Have we done it on the first tackle of the game? And was it an offload or an early pass? I don't remember an offload from Blair on the kickoff that led to anything.
