Moose is the aus and origin lock
He ain’t moving so people need to get the **** over it. He wouldn’t be an international lock if he wasn’t capable of playing that position

Reportedly $700k a year from the Bulldogs

I don’t get the fascination with TPJ at lock. No doubt he could be great there and has shown as much.

But for mine, I’d prefer to have him running on an edge at the Maloneys of the NRL and inside a James Roberts rather than being a middle forward.

I just think he can be far more damaging in that role than lock. If we had a Tedesco at fullback, his offloads at 13 could be lethal, but we don’t.
A lock should have an offload but that's not all a good lock needs. TPJ has raw footballers talent with strength and size to spend 80 minutes in the middle. Has a cutout pass that rivals some of the best, a mean step and footwork and yeah a great offload. I suppose it all depends on what people believe a Lock forward is...I don't agree with the full ball playing lock forward like the bird idea because you still need a big body to take the hard carries and take pressure off the two props which is why I would prefer TPJ at 13.

If Isaako can't pass, I hope he can at least play a support role.

There will be world war 3 to fight for offa's signature when his contract expires. Believe you me.

How long do we have him for? To be honest, I don't think he's an absolute must keep if it comes down to it. TPJ, Lodge and McGuire are all better front rowers, Haas will likely be better soon and we have other guys coming in too. So don't break the bank on him.

He's looked like Petero lately. Nothing too flash but solid as a brick wall.

In under 20's he was making line breaks, playing 80 minutes and making the most metres in the competition.

We definitely haven't seen the best of him.

I totally agree, he will only get better. Was on the cusp of origin selection

Knights - Fitzgibbon, Barnett... on the wings Sio and SKD with Dennis as back up and Sione one KO away from retirement
Dragons - literally 3/4 of their starting forwards were in origin... with Nightingale on the cusp of retirement
Eels - Mau and ??? Morea (in and out), takarangi (can't hold onto a spot) currently Niukore... on the wings Hayne, George Jennings, Bevan French, Michael Jennings in centers. OK eels are a mess but second row could be conceivable. So could back to back spoons and endless infighting from the board.

He should have been in the origin 17. He’s a gun that should be and currently is a starting prop or lock. Definitely worth forming out the needed money for, would be absolutely silly not to. Palm Bird off if you have to.

So it seems like if he wants to play 2nd row, he'll more likely than not have to settle for a spud team in order to achieve it

I think he comes off contract at the end of next year ?

i swear dobbin said he was gonna stay with us...

If we manage to hold onto Oates, where does Bird fit in our team currently. Our pack does not need him, will he do better than Boyd at 4? Roberts shouldn't go to the wing yet. Play him at 6 and Milf 7? The Sean O'sullivan thing baffles me too - as this then leave no room for Bird there.

They must be planning for Oates to leave.
