Agreed - he only ever seems to go as fast as he needs to.

That game against Storm last year where he took the loose ball, fumbled on his feet a little then took off with Addo-Carr chasing him comes to mind.

He only ever looked like he was doing enough to not get caught, and it’s always easier to run without the ball.

Earlier this year we played the Storm at Suncorp. Foregttable game for us, but Addo-Carr made a break. Jimmy had to turn and chase and caught him easily.

Only time I’ve seen those two go flat out, one chasing the other and Jimmy got him easily.

But “they”all say Addo-Carr is faster. Well, not the one time they’ve chased each other...

I think you just gotta look at how many solo tries/line breaks Roberts has done at long range just from pure speed. I don't think Addo Carr has as many

Addo-Carr has 12 line breaks to Roberts' seven this season. Melbourne use him really well. He sniffs around the middle more than Roberts does.

This is true, but it's worth pointing out that since Jimmy got the origin call up, he's been coming in looking for work far more often than he used to. He's trying to add more to his game.

PARRAMATTA could lose Bevan French, with the exciting young talent willing to leave the club in order to play fullback.
French is currently playing on the wing for the Eels, but he wants to add to his tally of 25 NRL games he’s featured in the custodian role.
With the 22-year-old stuck behind Clint Gutherson in the fullback pecking order and Blake Ferguson joining the club in 2019, it could force his hand when he’s able to start negotiating with rival clubs from November 1.
Fox Sports chief NRL reporter James Hooper revealed in his Monday blog that Gold Coast were one club willing to give French a shot in the No.1 jersey.
“I’ve had a little chat with my manager and come the end of the year we’ll have a sit down and have a chat about that and chat with the club and see where I sit,” French told The Daily Telegraph.
“A lot of people’s opinion is that I’m a better winger than fullback but I’d be pretty disappointed if I spent my whole career out on the wing.
“I don’t want to look back and say I didn’t try. If I try and go somewhere and try to be a fullback and it doesn’t work out, at least I know I gave it a crack and I’ll be happy to play anywhere then.”

Haven't heard or seen anything that would make me think we would be interested, but I thought I'd raise the proposition anyway. Anyone else a French fan here? I'm not certain on him as a Fullback long-term, but I could see him being a top 3 winger in the competition with a bit of work.

In the scenario that we do lose Oates, this is the guy I'd be straight on the phone to. We could tell him that he can compete with Isaako for the #1 jersey over the off-season.

I don't think we need to replace a player who doesn't want to be on the wing, with another player who doesn't want to be on the wing

I'd rather we sign Josh Hoffman back as our marquee player than see that shitstain in a Broncos jersey ever again. Parra is exactly the sort of club he deserves.
