Bennett has ruled out DCE coming to us

DCE just missed out on a penalty kick 40 metres out on the sideline by about a metre of distance

I don’t think WB is in any position to say players won’t be coming or going.

of course he is ... he is the coach of this football team, at this stage he can't say who will be here in 2020, but he certianly can for next season

I disagree, I'd say he's actually lost any say in recruitment. If we've already told him he's moving on, and he's refused to accept an administrative role for 2020 onward, there's virtually zero reason to keep him involved in off-field decisions moving forward.

Being the coach for 2019 doesn't mean he gets the final say on the roster for 2019, he's not running the club anymore by the looks of it.

they are not going to give Bennett a player he doesn't want ... especially as the new coach may also not want DCE.

DCE will only leave Manly for a big money long term deal ... so by forcing him on Bennett, they would also be effectively forcing him on the new coach, which definitely wouldn't be a good way for the new coach to start his tenure.

IMO the most they would do is limit the length of any contracts signed to allow the new coach to start getting the team he wants, without having to waste cap space to clear off dead wood

Yes, because any new coach would hate to be "forced" to coach a halves pairing of DCE & Milford..

just because you want DCE doesn't mean the new coach would ... especially given the rumours about him being bad for team harmony.

the new coach could also believe that our cap space is best utilised by having one million dollar a season half, and spend money elsewhere

Plus the other players Bennett has guaranteed to us for the next few years.

The club getting in DCE could be a great idea to get rid of Bennett.

Maloney, the great player that he is, is 32 and can’t seem to settle at any club for whatever reasons. I totally agree with the skill set he’d bring but not sure about fitting in. Last thing we need with all the crap going on is disruption on the field.

I would suggest the radon is probably because of the very fact he is 32. They have Luai coming through and even May, both look like they could be anything, especially Luai who just looks phenomenal already.

The Broncs should be getting into Maloney’s ear for sure. Even one season from him could provide the missing piece the Broncs need if DCE is not actually an option.

The Broncs should throw a two-year deal at Maloney, they’d become instant premiership favourites.

I mean this would be premiership favourites:

1. KNik
2. Oates
3. Roberts
4. Boyd
5. Isaako
6. Milford
7. Maloney
8. Lodge
9. Macca
10. Joffa
11. Su’A
12. Gillett
13. TPJ

14. Fifita
15. McGuire
16. Haas
17. Glenn

And there’s a fair bit of depth too.

Oh, has WB refused a role that no one can confirm he has been offered and no one can describe the nature of the role? I must have missed that.
