Bennett has ruled out DCE coming to us
Bennett has ruled out DCE coming to us
I don’t think WB is in any position to say players won’t be coming or going.
of course he is ... he is the coach of this football team, at this stage he can't say who will be here in 2020, but he certianly can for next season
I disagree, I'd say he's actually lost any say in recruitment. If we've already told him he's moving on, and he's refused to accept an administrative role for 2020 onward, there's virtually zero reason to keep him involved in off-field decisions moving forward.
Being the coach for 2019 doesn't mean he gets the final say on the roster for 2019, he's not running the club anymore by the looks of it.
they are not going to give Bennett a player he doesn't want ... especially as the new coach may also not want DCE.
DCE will only leave Manly for a big money long term deal ... so by forcing him on Bennett, they would also be effectively forcing him on the new coach, which definitely wouldn't be a good way for the new coach to start his tenure.
IMO the most they would do is limit the length of any contracts signed to allow the new coach to start getting the team he wants, without having to waste cap space to clear off dead wood
Yes, because any new coach would hate to be "forced" to coach a halves pairing of DCE & Milford..
Plus the other players Bennett has guaranteed to us for the next few years.Yes, because any new coach would hate to be "forced" to coach a halves pairing of DCE & Milford..
Maloney, the great player that he is, is 32 and can’t seem to settle at any club for whatever reasons. I totally agree with the skill set he’d bring but not sure about fitting in. Last thing we need with all the crap going on is disruption on the field.https://wwos.nine.com.au/2018/08/23...ng-james-maloney-gold-coast-titans-interested
If this is true, we would be stupid to not throw our hat in the ring

100%. Maloney is a winner, even if we only got him for 2 years it would help immensely.https://wwos.nine.com.au/2018/08/23...ng-james-maloney-gold-coast-titans-interested

no idea how we'd afford it though.
Oh, has WB refused a role that no one can confirm he has been offered and no one can describe the nature of the role? I must have missed that.I disagree, I'd say he's actually lost any say in recruitment.
