Oh, has WB refused a role that no one can confirm he has been offered and no one can describe the nature of the role? I must have missed that.

Plenty of people have confirmed and described the role over the last week, Badel & Garry have both been using quotes from the letter that White put on his desk, I believe the wording that was used was "Senior administrative role at the Broncos".

Unless of course all of the rival journalists have been fed false information by the same source, which seems unlikely, but not impossible.

I would suggest the radon is probably because of the very fact he is 32. They have Luai coming through and even May, both look like they could be anything, especially Luai who just looks phenomenal already.

The Broncs should be getting into Maloney’s ear for sure. Even one season from him could provide the missing piece the Broncs need if DCE is not actually an option.

The Broncs should throw a two-year deal at Maloney, they’d become instant premiership favourites.

He is one year into a three year deal yet their shopping him. Got to be more to it but if it’s going to help us until our young guns are ready I’m all for it.

There certainly could be a bigger issue but I would think it is one of two things:

1. They don't want to lose Luai, which makes sense because let's look at what happened to the Cows with keeping JT/Coote over Ponga
2. Maloney was on open Griffin supporter, Gould may not be happy about that and that guy can seem to hold a grudge.

Maloney is a winner. Can't defend for shit, but Nikorima is pretty awful in that category too. I think he'd be a great buy and is exactly the kind of cool head we need in our team.

I agree. He's a grub on the field and is a speedbump in defence, but just seems to be there for the clutch moments to pull a win out of the fire. He's also bloody tough. I've seen him smashed and busted up and barely able to walk, but he's there for the next play regardless.

I've been guilty in the past of writing him off due to his defensive issues and constantly giving away penalties, but his success speaks for itself.

He would be one of the most expensive halves in the game now though with JT and Cronk off the menu.

What if we have our own Ponga in-waiting? We sign Maloney for 2-3 years and we could lose him.

From all reports, we have 3 of the best young halves coming through. What’s to say at least one of them doesn’t have a stellar off-season and is then ready mid next year. I’d hate to see the Broncos do a Bulldogs-JT just to get a stop-gap Maloney. Add to that the money he’d be asking, you could hardly not play him.

2 years ago, sure I’d take him because he’s a winner, despite the fact I loathe his style.
But now, no thanks.

Of course, it’s also very possible the 3 gun halves I mentioned may not be ready for a while yet. I guess that’s the gamble we have to weigh up.

I'm hoping Sean O,Sulllivan can end our halves dilemma for a much more affordable option. Going off a couple of reports he was highly regarded at the chooks and in a good position to make a run at the permanent 7 spot after Cronk.

Forget about the roles description, didn't you say WB refused it? How do you know this? Given the track record of journos recently I put more stock in your accuracy and on that score I have no faith you are accurate.

Bennett literally came out and said that he has no interest in anything but a head coaching role for the time being. I feel like you're a bit behind on the news cycle, this all occurred a couple of weeks ago.

I would 100% take Maloney over DCE.

He's a proven winner and a no-nonsense leader. Despite his defensive flaws he has genuine quality and experience that would help Milford, I also reckon he'd be more than happy to help our juniors out and given his age we wouldn't have to throw stupid money at him, like we would for DCE.

Would just need to sort out fullback and I actually genuinely think we could win the premiership with Maloney at halfback.

How we afford it is an entirely different matter.

You do note he said according to you for the time being. That was back then so things change. Rather than being behind the times I think you're presuming things to be facts without any evidence. Maloney, the great player that he is, is 32 and can’t seem to settle at any club for whatever reasons. I totally agree with the skill set he’d bring but not sure about fitting in. Last thing we need with all the crap going on is disruption on the field.

Trouble with this guy he is a penalty magnet. Think he has scored the most points for the pussy cats but also has the most errors. However certainly puts his heart and sole into his job. We could do worse.
