Broncos Player Movement and Rumours 2020

2017 was arguably Moose’s best ever season. Cemented as Qld starting lock, winning player of the series and subsequently cementing his place as Kangaroos lock.

Yep, that’s clearly the bloke you replace for a junior who at that point had played 10 NRL games...

Definitely shouldn't be getting rid of McGuire.

Although I do believe he should have a slightly different role in the side. I'd like to see him as our starting prop along with Lodge and have those two be our enforcers to set the tone for the first 20-30 minutes. They can take the brunt of the work and lay the platform down for our bench to capitalise.

McGuire I see as more of a Jacob Lillyman/Ben Hannant/Carl Webb kind of prop.

Would be great to have this as our starting front row..

8. Lodge
9. McCullough
10. McGuire

and about 15 minutes before half time we send on

8. Joe Ofahengaue
9. Kodi Nikorima
10. Payne Haas

Would like to see Tevita playing big minutes at lock and ideally means he would get to pick his timing for certain plays more wisely.

Yeah I like the TPJ to lock idea too but don't think he's ready just yet going on how he ended his season... I know he was injured a bit but some of his decision making showed a lack of maturity. I hope he sticks around and signs a long term extension because I think he will be the Broncos 13 for a decade to come, but he might need another season to mature a bit. I'd love to see the rotation you mentioned also, adds a real power game.

As good as TPJ can be, at times he is incredibly dumb and ill disciplined when his emotions get the better of him and he becomes a bit of a grub in all honesty. Biggest thing that I'm worried about with TPJ is the amount of niggling injuries he seems to pick up.

Currently from what I've seen I think Joffa would be a better option at lock unless Wayne decides to go with Bird.

Totally agree. TPJ has raw talent and strength that gives him massive potential but Joffa seems to have really grown this season, but he has a fair bit more NRL experience than Tavita too. I thought Joffa was outstanding in his stint at lock this season. A couple games this season Joe was best on the park IMO.

But TPJ will be the same regardless of where he plays. I'd still be taking a gamble on him. He's got the size for the big runs, the ball playing potential to put players into gaps and move the ball around, and experience on both edges to be the perfect lock. At his best, he'd easily be our best lock IMO.

From what i gather, he was getting a little to big for his boots, his contract was up at the end of the year so we didnt stand in his way.

He was made an offer, took the Souths’ one.

whats the word on bird fucking off?

Titans have just signed Jacks.
I have no idea why we didn’t try and get him here. Better then our current 7 options and out of the Melbourne system. I think he’s done alright this year.
Hopefully we’re putting our faith in O’Sullivan, but most likely will end up playing in qcup and never get a run.

I don’t get our recruitment.

we reportedly withdrew our offer for him ...

probably because we weren't going to wait an eternity, potentially missing out on other options, to see if he won the battle of the halves at the Storm

Jacks is hardly worth crying about. Croft is easily the better of the two and the one worth targeting (comparatively)

Agreed I don't really rate Jacks at all... looks a Shane Perry type and we no longer have a Lockyer to carry him.

For those asking for a purely managing halfback you need to realise that it would heap all the attack onto Milf, Boyd and Macca.

I don't think we can afford to have a half that offers little in the way of attack just to bring in a slightly above average kicking game.

I'd say Milf's kicking is already better than Jacks anyway

What chances would we have of signing Brimson?

Apparently still without a contract for next year..

Titans are signing outside halves (Roberts, Jacks) and still haven't signed their own.

He looks pretty good ol' Brimson. Any relation to William?

MITCHELL Moses has pulled out of a party trip to Las Vegas this week to watch UFC superstar Conor McGregor so he can take up his own fight at Parramatta.
The Daily Telegraph has been told the Eels are attempting to shop the 24-year-old playmaker to rival clubs after a failed attempt to move on halves partner Corey Norman.
But it is understood Moses has no intention of walking out on the final year of his contract and instead has backed himself to prove his worth in 2019.
It is understood that as recently as last week there was still talks going on that Moses might not be at the Eels next season.
It follows an unsuccessful push to get rid of Norman who is on close to $900,000 next year.
The talk is that when the Eels failed in their attempts to get rid of Norman, they turned their attention to Moses to try and save salary cap space.

I won't even suggest we consider Moses out of respect for the club, but it's worth noting as a possible domino anyway. Perhaps there's another club in Sydney who would be willing to take on Moses' contract if a certain current Queensland Halfback requests a release due to board / coaching dramas..
