Croft isn't good.

Would rather go in to the season with Dearden & O'Sullivan as our Halfback(s)

If he can’t be successful in a Melbourne team there’s no way it’ll happen here.

I hope we go SoS at 6 and Dearden at 7. SoS has so far shown he’ll run it more often than not which lends itself to 5/8th play

Dearden looked really comfortable on the right edge with Gillo so I wouldn’t want to change that

I'm still of the opinion that the Milford & Dearden halves combination has a very real chance to be our halves combination for the next 5+ years. We need to give it an opportunity, the full off-season & pre-season together, forming combinations, letting Dearden control a lot more of the kicking, letting Milford get back to his running & supporting best.

All we need is a viable option at Fullback, maybe it's Isaako, maybe it's Bird, maybe it's Niu, maybe it's someone we haven't got on the books yet.

Should be Bird. Don't think it will ever be Niu, but he might surprise me in the future.

Trupin/Segg 9, Dearden 7, Mild 6, Bird and Staggs 3/4, Oates & Isaako 2/5, Coats or Farmer 1/bench. Thats a premiership backline.

1. Milf
6. O'Sullivan
7. Dearden

IMO, an SOS/Milf halves combination will have similar issues to Milf/Niko

SoS has shown way more ability than Dearden has who I still don’t understand the hype for.

It’s been explained to you multiple times, no need to go into it again about Dearden.

As for Milf and SOS, I think the point is that they are both runners essentially, pretty much the same as KNik and Milf or Hunt and Milf. It could work or it could fail like both of those mostly did aside from 2015.

I dunno, just because he has a running game doesn’t mean that’s his only option. He’s got a number of try assist and line break assists and is defensively very sound. I clearly think milf is best at 6 so I just don’t see the point of moving him to accomodate Dearden when he hasn’t had any attacking output in the same number of opportunities as SoS.

I actually don’t necessarily disagree with you. I can see the appeal in Dearden but SOS has undeniably performed better. I wouldn’t be against giving them both a shot in the halves and see how they go.

I’m also not prepared to write Milf off at fullback. He hasn’t been as bad as you’ve been making out but he certainly hasn’t been amazing either. He’s been a bit hot and cold.

It is important to note though that he hasn’t played there in half a decade, that’s a long time. It will be interesting to see how he would go after a full pre-season there next year.

Need dearden to manage and do the kicking. Be the Shane perry we need

Is Sean O’Sullivan good enough to be the Darren Lockyer we need though? Perry worked because we had THE elite player at 6.

Roosters pulled out the big guns trying to poach Dearden, dinner with Johns and Politis. Obviously quite the prospect.
