Better to be developing behind a gun forward pack imo.
Not necessarily, I think. A half should also learn how to play when the opposition defence is numbering up and monstering you through the middle too.

Anyone think we seriously need to consider shedding a forward star to sign a quality half to steer the ship?
All the top teams don’t have a forward pack of mega stars but they do have a key half or hooker
I don't hate the idea in theory but the theory is that there would be a quality half available.

What are people's thoughts on Riki, Bullemor, Vudogo and Paix.

Given fensom, tagataese, mago, dargan, fai will probably be moved on will these players be in line for top 25 next year.

...reckon if none of those guys are getting a look in in this year of all years then they are surplus...

Therefore...pissem off and bring the younger brigade into the top 30...

...great question; i guess it depends on your point of view.

You can look at this year and say; did we just waste 1 year of this forward packs potential?

Nothing last forever, we have no idea how long we can keep this forward group together and therefore cant take it for granted....can you really say this has been a development year when our worst 4 players are all senior players..?

Next season is year 2 of this forward packs 'development", or is it a potential another wasted year..??....this league doesn't stay still.....we CANT waste years of these guys best up and coming years with the utter shit of a back line...so yeh....sacrifice one or 2 of the tier 2 guys to get a organizing half seems to me a smart move...

I mean, Fifita almost had a historic game last week (for tackle breaks) simply because he had a half on his edge who can properly set up his edge runs...both 40 metres out and 10 metres out form the line....and SoS is a FUCKIN ROOKIE...!!

I personally dont think we need a gun half (i.e cronk, munster, keary etc.) behind this pack. I think an above average half would do really well with it.

All we need is a reasonable to good organiser, good kicking game and someone who will take the ball to the line and get players hitting gaps.

Truth be told, i think even ash taylor behind this pack would go closer to reaching his perceived potential. Not coming back was a major mistake in his development as he had shit all to work with at the titans.

I reckon a spine of:
1. Milf/bird (milf if we continue with off load footy, he can just follow the ball for offloads, run set plays or use his big boot if we are up our end)
6. Milf/bird
7. SOS/Dearden (i have SOS with the edge)
9. Turpin.
Would do well behind our pack. A decent mix of youth and experience.

No way are paix and bullemor are surplus??? Vudogo and riki are still worth some time, actually not even sure riki is even got any sort of affiliation with Broncos anymore.

1. Milf/bird (milf if we continue with off load footy, he can just follow the ball for offloads, run set plays or use his big boot if we are up our end) - He isn't doing that now though, he tracks aimlessly across the defensive line instead and gets tackled.
6. Milf/bird - ....therefore, this is Milfs position for mine
7. SOS/Dearden (i have SOS with the edge)....either with a more experienced half is the solution
9. Turpin. - God

Paix has been upgraded and has been rather good, and is regarded as one of our best spine options.

I hope smokin joe is right about Darius being looked after because his misses insists he is staying put for the next two years on her Boheme Instagram page today. If I could send the link I would.😔 I don’t know who to believe. She is very upset with the media but still uses it.

she probably wants a $30K dollar ring from the NRL like Cam Smiths missus....
What really shits me about the smith ring saga was the nrl saying it was for the sacrifices she has made. The millions he has earned doesnt compensate for that?

I would argue that the wives of journeyman who have moved their families to get a game have sacrificed more. Where are their rings? Nrl is so full of shit, they dont even try to look impartial.

So sorry 😐 to put this up as a scoop. Didn’t realise I was 3 hrs late and it had been discussed fairly heavily on another page. I just really hope it’s wrong and the broncos admin can give him his $1.6 m over 20 years and not 2.

To me, it's obvious Boyd will play next year and be told he has a job waiting for him after.
It may change if he gets a long term injury, but I can't see him quitting before then, nor do I see a serious effort being made by the club to do so either but I may be wrong. I just guessing from what's being said.
Come next year they will have a long term replacement captain in mind (probably bird from what we have now, perhaps an older turpin or possibly a mature player brought in to the club (gillet or macca would fill in for the short term, whilst he is molded for the role).
I've been thinking why siebold and the club has been so stalwart in their support for him. I can only think they told Boyd to hold the players together, during the rift last year and he did. Furthermore, even during the roughest times those players have held together and supported the coach. It's the only thing that makes sense. Come the end of next year he won't be needed one way or another as siebold's merits as a coach will be decided one way or another. Either their sitting top 4 or theres a new coach come seasons end.

I genuinely cannot see Boyd in the 17 next year. For mine the way this is starting to play out in the media reminds me of just under 12m ago, when the whole coach saga was going on.
I think it may end very similarly or, both parties may have already sorted it out behind closed doors (hopefully.)
