since when have the NRL used any form of common sense ...

they will likely pick the number out of thin air ... but since he is already contracted, they will likely use his current contract value as a starting point (a 50% deduction off that still put's his notional value at around the 500k mark)

He got paid $1m a season as a fully healthy fullback, he is now a specialist centre coming off a major injury, I think we could get away with $300k.

Position matters when it comes to $$, just ask Josh Dugan.

you're deluded if you think the NRL will register a contract for Inglis for 300k

The only way we could probably get away with that is if he was already at the club and a long serving player.

But signing him from another club and taking his standing in the game in consideration, no chance we get away with that.

We signed Benji Marshall for $100k, how is that possible when a few years ago he was one of the best halves in the competition? Oh, his value degraded as he entered his twilight years, impact lessened and injuries caught up with him?..

Interesting..

Interesting..

the difference being he had zero other options.

he was out of contract ... unlike Inglis
and no other offers on the table (also unlikely with Inglis)

Nobody compared Benji Marshall to Greg Inglis, please stop making shit up.

Also can you post that quote from Benji @Foordy

as soon as you post the source about the Warriors being able to sign Foran on MINIMUM WAGE. I see you conveniently ignored that request

Didn't the Dragons sign Gaz for **** all in 2010 when he came back? I understand it was for only the rest of that season (at the time) but they got a premium centre that helped win them a title. I'd like it to happen, provided we don't lose any players (read: Roberts), if only to see the reaction from everyone else in the league.

And the NRL realised they were duped and have cracked down ever since.

We have Wayne as our coach. If it's between us and retirement for GI and the NRL take a hard stance you can guarantee Bennett will have his say and they'll probably bow to him.

We could also possibly justify a lower cap value on the basis of him having to finish his rehab with us. It's not like we'll be getting him at 100% fitness.

Except nobody will say they did it for the Dragons, they will say they did it for Bennett.

I don't see why we would sign Bird and Inglis together. Unless Roberts is leaving?

Just imagine the protest from the other clubs

That's pretty much the only reason I'd want to sign Inglis. The tears down south would be epic and there's a fair chance that at least one of the many Broncos-hating "journalists" would dead set blow a heart gasket. That'd be worth 300k just by itself.
