The thing is though Brisbane would have had to agreed to a release of Macca.Probably because those 9’s are willing to accept a backup role. Macca wanted to be the main hooker, probably the reason why he chose to go to the Knights who had an opening.
That’s the thing people are overlooking when they criticise Seibold for not keeping Macca after Turpin got injured.
If a player isn’t willing to accept a backup role, then there isn’t much point keeping them. That’s a recipe for disaster.
He can’t just walk out on the club, as he was still contracted.
I wouldn’t at all be surprised if we are also chipping in for a large sum of his contract, whilst he is playing for a rival team. Now we are looking at signing an older experienced, backup 9 whilst already paying 3 hookers in paix, Turpin and most probably Macca.
Shit like this is why we are laughing stock of the league..
