Getting Hunt back to play 9 at $600k, that is a GREAT deal, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

What about this:

1. Milford
6. Staggs
7. Dearden
9. Hunt

1. Bird/isaako
2. coates
3. Bird/isaako
4. Staggs
5. Farnworth
6. Milfie
7. Dearden
8. Haas
9. C.smith/bhunt/turps
10. Lodge
11. Glenn
12. Oates
13. Carrigan
14. Paix/Jayden nikorima (why not)

Unfortunately there's still a large part of the team that has played shit this year. But who knows maybe a new coach will fix them.

I really don't think getting rid of Milford is a good idea. Milford and Dearden should be our halves next year.

I agree with getting rid of joffa, stopafartie's son, Kahu is debatable (I'd keep him on min wage) Kennar - we have wingers, I don't mind Sos but he's nothing special, I've liked what Teo has added, I for one would keep him and we can **** Luke right off

I’d like to give Milford one more shot under a decent coach and a full pre season with dearden. Milford’s kicking game is by far the best in the club and I’m not ready to let that go as well

The problem is Milford's next contract. If he plays the house down next year, he will want a million again and this club should be offering him no more than half of that.

I'd kill for hunt back in Broncos colours. I still love the bugga. Remember his dummy's and goose steps? Oh man good times.
Me too. He has passion. I was shattered that he got such a huge offer. No way were we going to match that. He didn't want to go, but who can turn that sort of offer down?

The pain of milford is that he can, at his peak be a game breaker. He has never, however been a game manager, leader or tactician. Can you be a modern day senior half, without at least some of the latter?

That's before you even consider his last "good" season was the tail end of 2017 after a crap start.

Can we really know that for sure? When he's switched on we can really put some points on. The problem is he tends to go missing often. I think he is capable but just doesn't have the focus. If we could just switch him on for every game, I think he would be capable. However, when he has someone who can take on that responsibility, he's able to inject himself when he's feeling something. I wish I could understand his mentality better. Milford is quite a quality player, but he either thinks he is being relied on too heavily or he gets mentally defeated somehow, or he just wants a rest. I don't know, but he just hasn't ever seemed like he's 100% committed. Those sleepy eyes never seem to light up. Whereas players like Thurston or Benji or Hunt or Dearden, you can see it when they see something is on. They have that drive. Staggs too.

I assume you were referring to the game breaker bit? Merely meaning at his peak he was good for a couple of tries a game by a twinkle toes bamboozle of the defensive line. Individual brilliance rather than the qualities of a game manager. Totally agree with his demeanor and his eyes. He seems disinterested or very introverted and closed off.

Well, no. I meant the game manager bit. I think he wants to dictate plays and manage the games. The problem is he drifts in and out of this role and seems petty in his selection of the role. Like, if he sees someone else outshining him in this role, he will call too often for the ball, but then he doesn't have a plan. It's all very strange. He has an ego, but it seems to be a fragile one. Little man syndrome or something. Wants to be a leader, but is too self-conscious to delegate or step back and fears making a mistake so he disappears and can point the finger elsewhere when things go wrong. But when offered help from great players, who could add to his skillset, he had too much pride to accept it.

Not an uncommon or unusual thing for many people, but really not great for a high-profile sportsman.

Game-breaking for sure, but he has shown game management before IMO.

Brittle Ben back! Mmmm, I'd be okay with that and he'd be a fine hooker and could be useful on the back of the scrum too. Having a solid kicking game, a solid defensive game and plenty of experience and bought for say, 500k I think it would be pretty smart. I suppose 600k is okay too.

Glad to see no mention of ditching Kennedy and I'm surprised no one is screaming 'why isn't Croft being shown the door?'. It must just all be guesswork and finding a Broncos story is getting harder.

All this talk of jettisoning players who are not performing now is all well and good, but where are we getting the replacement troops from? Very few (if any) elite and desirable players are off contract for next year. In addition we've been unable to develop new and potential talent further due to the ISC being cancelled. Which incidentally, is the lifeblood of all three QLd. teams.

I think it would be more prudent to ignore the crap coming form the media for now. I mean, let's face it with Pies gone they're struggling to generate a headline. So what they're putting out at the moment is just scuttlebutt and fantasy footy talk.

I'm more inclined to look for offers too good to refuse like Hunt back for under 500K and no mention of Joffa (or any other players for that matter) until we have fully embedded a new coach. If the coach is any good he will be able to turn some of these guys around and in doing so save the club a few bob into the bargain.

More than ever guys - we need to show some patience.
