They both screwed us over. As I understand it, we spent more money on Folau, freeing up space for 4 years, and he never even finished his contract.

They both screwed us over. As I understand it, we spent more money on Folau, freeing up space for 4 years, and he never even finished his contract.

Nah, Folau had an option for another 2 years, and opted out of it.
He also informed the Broncos management well in time, unlike Khunt!

Khunt held the Broncos more of less hostage until the very end, and the Broncos lost other players as a consequence. Whether or not the management should've acted earlier with him as Big Pete implies, is another story, but the Broncos were trying to move heaven and earth too keep him at the club at the time...

I just remember being under the impression that Hunt wasn't going to stick around past 09 quite early in the pre-season. I can't remember what it was, whether it was articles or the odd rumour popping up but I thought the Broncos were silly releasing all those players early to save room for Hunt.

That doesn't excuse Hunt for being a selfish prima madonna but the blame deserves to be shared around.

Especially when this was the recruitment team that decided we should release Civoniceiva for Clinton...

Hunt strung the club along knowing full well he was going to AFL but didn't have the courtesy to be honest with the club and then without even giving the club a heads-up parades himself in front of the media embarrassing the code and Broncos in the process. He didn't give a shit about the fans or the club and his actions completely tarnished any legacy he could have hoped to have had at the Broncos imo.
