Broncos Player Movements and Rumours 2014

Bennett was always going to be temporary. He's coming on a 3 year deal with Bennett grooming the new coach in that time, ready for him/her to take over when Bennett's 3 years are up. Seems like a solid plan to me.

I just hope we don't play boring footy and instead present some edge of your seat excitement like the team are capable of with guys like Copely, Hunt, Barba and Milf running around.

I really do lol at the gf/ex gf analogy.

Are you suggesting that instead of going back to the ex, we stay single for a bit?

lol

Thanks for being the 3rd person to remind me I put the wrong ladder position in.

I'd also like to know where I said we are heading in the right direction? I've said numerous times Griffin had to look elsewhere, it's his replacement that I question and I wonder if running back to your Ex-Gf because the dating scene was tough is the right option. I don't think it is and I question if Bennett actually still has it or not. I was fine for him to come back to Brisbane just not as the head coach, a Gus Gould style role would have been awesome and would have pushed the club into the future long term. Bennett as head coach doesn't, it just possibly creates a temp solution to a coaching problem.

Unfortunately, Bennett was never going to come here as a coaching administrator or some type of football manager role.

I actually tend to agree with you in that the appointement of Bennett is not a good long term option, in fact its a terrible long term option but imo it is still a better short term option than Griffin.
To me in 2015 we have gone from having a 3 out of 10 coach to a 6 out of 10 coach, will we win a premiership with Bennett? Probably not, but i expect to give it a shake compared to scraping into the 8 with Griffin and then limping out first week of the finals.

I don't expect (or want) Bennett any longer than 3 years, the club now has that time in order to find the right successor.

@Big Pete , who do you think we might get from Newcastle? Boyd? Gagai? Interested to hear your thoughts on these guys...

I just hope he has a better plan than he had at the Dragons.

Gagai would be nice. I don't think fans understand how difficult it is to defend in the centres, especially when you've spent the bulk of juniors at fullback. Despite being world class, it took Hodges a long time to adjust and even now he makes the odd big error.

I wouldn't want anybody else from their first grade side. I'd rather look at their NYC side and consider bringing home Harry Pondekas.

I'd like to see who Bennett brings through/prioritizes from our u20's squad. He didn't get to really taste it the first time as it was his final year at the club, now that it's been around a few years and we seem to be doing pretty well, it'll be interesting to see how/who he develops.

Hodges couldn't defend in the centres for about 85% of his career.

I rate Gagai as a future rep player. He is just all class in attack.

Bennett will be here now until he decides he's had enough ... that could be three years, but then again it could be much longer. i heard some speculation the other day saying he could be the codes first 1000 game coach. or another 250 games (approx), which would equate to another 8-9 seasons.

Thats just speculation though, i'd prefer to think he is here for 3 years while they find the right coach for 2018.

I'll happily join the doomsdayers in 2019 if he is still coaching us then with Mason the starting prop.

6th. We are 6th.

Based on the run home, I doubt we'll make the 8 this year.

Last year we didn't make the 8.

In 2012 we finished 8th.

So, over the past 3 years, our best result will have been 8th. And you think that we are heading in the right direction? You're kidding right?

Last year the Knights went within a game of the GF. This year they have had to contend with:

1. a mate ending up in a wheelchair;

2. not being paid; and

3. huge off-field ructions.....

we've had to contend with....absolutely nothing.

The board is doing something to address these failures.

Not to mention their halfback can't run twenty metres without having to hold him hamstring. Also hamstring is a funny word when you think about it.

**** DCE, **** Boy, **** KHunt, **** Gagai and **** Bennett... This club is going backwards because it got a little tough.

PS. Please don't take this seriously. I know you guys get a little sensitive.

And you chide others for buying into baseless speculation.

Now where's that smiley that you're so fond of, oh here it is

Let's hope WB is here long enough for Cam Smith to retire and become an assistant!

On the knights players, I rate Korbin highly. He's a bit dumb at times but aggressive as ****, something we haven't really had since T'eo left.

Mason will be haunting houses in 2019 ...
