...at the expense of who is my concern.

Best guess is either Hoffman or Barba (Hoffman more likely)
Where does this leave Hannant though who Bennett is apparently keen to re sign is the other question with Garbutt coming

There's room for McGuire, Hannant, Kennedy & Garbagebutt IMO.

Well, I hope Bennett gets the best out of Kennedy.

Step 1, stop being a pillow.

I would like to think that's the case, but something's got to give in regards to salary cap pressure. They aren't going to be able to resign Hannant for 80k a year.

If Kennedy continues playing like he is now I wouldn't mind keeping him. He hasn't been to bad since his stint in the QLD cup and was making some contribution.

Disagree, he's on 400K a season. He needs to play a lot better than he is now, because other players will now demand more too.

I don't think it would be much of a problem. I have a feeling a couple of players will be forced out and I think Hannant knows he would need to take a pay cut to stay at the Broncos.

Since his return he has been making some strong runs of the bench and is starting to make some kind of impact. You always need your bench players to do their job and he is doing that. $400 grand a year is just stupid for him though I agree with that.

Who knows what he's really on?

His value has grown the longer his tenure at the club has gone on. It reminds me of that skit in Arrested Development where Gob keeps exaggerating the value of his suit.

250K Contract - Come On

350K Contract - Come On

400K Contract - Come On!

Still, he could be on minimum NRL money, he hasn't been performing well enough to be in the team. His form for the Jets was promising but he's got to do a lot more than what he did against the Bulldogs if he wants to keep playing on.

He will be here for at least Bennett's first year.

This is really the crux of the issue here. It's not that he's terrible (he has been serviceable), it's that he's not living up to the price tag.

I'd be fine if we were paying 200k, but at 400k we need more bang for our buck. I do believe that we should hang onto him, provided he can finish the year strong (and kicks on next year).

Arrested Development, I always have a laugh thinking about that show.

Poor Raiders fans, frothing at the mouth over a morsel of speculation about Hoffman.

Media speculation of Milford signing for us: RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE SCUM MEDIA TRYING TO RUIN OUR CLUB RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE

Media speculation of Hoffman signing for them: every post listing their backline with 1. Hoffman

He's an ineffective fullback who gets smashed just about every game and is invisible thereafter.

I think we give Hoffman a harsh wrap on this forum. He has negative aspects to his game and I think we'd all be much happier if he was content on playing on the wing. However, he has guts and determination and does some really good things too. The Raiders could do a lot worse than sign Hoffman.

If we let him go out of his contract for the Raiders, let's see how disgusted they are at a player wanting to break his contract then.

Truthfully, after his terrible attempt to stop Inglis I would have dumped him until he learned to tackle. He could have stopped Inglis by simply laying down in front like a speed bump instead he went high and Inglis trampled him. Only had to hit him with his shoulder in the thigh or midsection and I mean a legal shoulder drive.
