Broncos Player Movements and Rumours 2014

The Mole broke the news.

It's interesting and I'm sure the signing of Milford would entice Mataora.

Truthfully, after his terrible attempt to stop Inglis I would have dumped him until he learned to tackle. He could have stopped Inglis by simply laying down in front like a speed bump instead he went high and Inglis trampled him. Only had to hit him with his shoulder in the thigh or midsection and I mean a legal shoulder drive.

Right, because Hoffman is the only player who Inglis has ever run over.

Would you have dumped the 7 or so players who couldn't stop inglis the first time round this year as well ?

7 Wrongs don't make up a right ! Ffs, he could have lay on the ground and been more effective ! That's the difference between a fair and a good fullback, a good fullback will bend at the waist and drive with his shoulder having learned from the previous 7 or so bad misses on Inglis. Inglis had no where to go other than straight at Hoffman, he was covered left and right, Hoffman only had to put his body in the way really. It was not a first grade standard attempt at a tackle. If you wish to excuse Hoffman based on the fact that others have missed Inglis then, that is your prerogative.

That's exactly what he did though, and it didn't work. Andddd I don't think anyone thinks he is that great of a fullback. He shouldn't cop the whole blame though because a lot of players messed up during that play.

Hoffman couldn't really win IMO. He goes low and Inglis offloads. He goes high to try to wrap up the ball and is overpowered by simply a bigger player.

So .... this Sam Mataora ...... is he a worthy signing ?

I can honestly say i don't think i've ever seen him play :hmmmm2:

Is he what we need ?

He looked like a decent prospect form what I saw of him over the last few years. Plays prop and backrow I believe.

This was posted by the Lurker today (not the most reliable source, but still ...)

@StevoRidge1 Joseph Paulo, staying or going ? Raiders a chance ? #asklurk
The Lurker: Between the Broncos and Eels - I think he will stay.

What do you guys think? I haven't seen many Eels games so hard for me to judge.

He is a back rower, correct? Which would surely mean if we sign him, we will lose one of our other back rowers

Paulo is a backrower, but very ball play oriented. Think Feleti Mateo, but a bit less talented without so many offloads or brain farts. He would be a good variation on what our current backrowers offer, but I really don't see where he'd fit in. Would make for a much better bench option than Lowrie, but that's what he'd be at best.

He's arguably the best ball player out of all the back rowers.

Paulo plays in the middle for Parra. He would be an ideal lock.

Paulo isn't really a conventional lock, more a creative one that no other team seems to have. If we signed him, we couldn't keep Griffinball going.

He would not solve their problems. The other noted option was St. George. Hmmm, didn't we already lose a player to them who wanted to play fullback...

Beale: leaves to play fullback - the sign Dugan - Beale plays centre

Hoffman: leaves to play fullback - gets moved to centre - Beale shifts to wing.

Would piss myself
