Broncos Record breaking coach is safe

That’s because they’re bro’s from way back.

you do know White and Bennett have been (or at least were) friends for 30 years, right?

assuming Seibs and White are actually friends and not just from the same town, it won't save seibs.

especially given decisions on hiring and firing the coach is made by the board not unilaterally by the CEO

There's no chance Seibold gets sacked this season. An off-season review is our only chance to get rid of him.

Look at the guys making the decisions:

Paul White - Leaving the club at the end of 2020, hired his mate for 5 years as a going away present, has no reason to fire him. What are we gonna do? Sack or CEO a month before his contact expires?

Karl Morris - Is on the record saying that Seibold was signed for 5 years because he believes in him and that it'll take 2-3 years for the club to turn around, if he fires Seibold mid-way through year 2 he looks inept. He's also got his hands tied by News Corp.

News Corp - Sacking a coach mid-season is bad for business. Especially when there's no ready-made replacement like last time. They'd rather suffer through a poor season than pay-out Seibs and have an interim coach for 6 months.

If it's going to happen it'll be over the off-season when A) White is gone and B) When News Corp won't lose as much money off it.

cant help but agree. The seasons already over, why pay for 2 coaches to miss the finals when you can just ride out the season with Seibold. Let him “quit” at the end of the year citing results not being as he expected.

Why is anyone surprised? Of course nothing was coming from this, we knew it when they said it was Q&A only.
