Dolphins have said that Suncorp Stadium will be their main venue, with "some games" at Redcliffe and Sunshine Coast

I think this is a mistake.

For mine their focus should be increasing the seating capacity at Redcliffe and playing their games there. This area is a Rugby League mad area. If there are NRL games being played here, they will get the numbers.

I think that would be a mistake... Redcliffe is like 40-60mins from Suncorp when you factor in traffic or public transport.

That's a fair hike if you're a Redcliffe native.

They should be lobbying with govt for a larger stadium as part of 2032 Olympic games.

Redcliffe is next boom area in the state so having a good size stadium out there on the bay would increase economics for the region.

In saying that stay the **** away from our players you dirty stinking phins

They will more than likely be spread out fairly evenly the first year no matter what they say .

I think the NRL should do this more in general given the crowds suck overall, play more games in local stadiums and keep the big ones for the big stadiums, unless of course said stadium is the home ground for said team. I actually think this MIGHT be the only thing (other than cheaper tickets) that will get fans back to the games. Smaller grounds make it look like bigger crowds in attendance and generally has a louder, better atmosphere which also makes for better TV (non-Covid times I'm referring to).

Of course I am aware this kind of thinking is way too complicated for NRL officialdom to understand.
Exactly… nothing better than a Sunday afternoon watching a game of local rugby league on the television cause it has atmosphere

I can’t see to many of our stars leaving only depth players who want to be getting a spot elsewhere. There is the likes of Turpin and a couple others that played q-cup at Redcliffe and might be attracted by it, but I couldn’t care less if turps buggered off.

Might not be the right thread for this but I’m getting the general consensus is that everyone wants Redcliffe to be the new team? Is that right or would other people prefer the firehawks or the jets

Nah the Jets would be ok too.
But if they want to actually be a national comp they need another team from a different state.

WA or SA even the NT ....

I'd probably rather redcliffe out of 3 their throwing about but would much prefer a central qld team over a second brisbane.

I'll take a stab basically because I want to make a list for Redcliffe:

1. Manu
2. MacDonald
3. Opacic
4. Hoeter
5. Isaako
6. Munster (c)
7. Fogarty
8. Wallace

10. Welch
11. Hess
12. Kikau
13. McGuire

14. Nikorima

16. James
17. Stuckey

Hehe I know this won't even be close.

Add Carrigan to that list.

Carrigan goes to Redcliffe then off goes Wolfie (all hot 🔥)too.
Win, win.
Only kidding 😁......

Wondering why Carrigan's contact hasn't been extended or even talked about.
?????

Funnily enough I did actually think about it but I think he is going to surprise a few upon return.
I hope so .. if he holds the ball and actually goes forward would go along way.
