No benefit until Turpin breaks down which is highly likely.

**** the Dragons, they can have him next season. McCullough is the definition of bog ordinary but if we have injuries like last year He can be useful.
Paix, Luke in ISC. Croft at a pinch if desperate.

Imagine letting go of McInnes to chose between Macca and Peats.

That’s rejecting Margot Robbie because your heart is torn between Danny Devito and McLovin.
Well that's exactly right because if the McCinnes contract figures are correct then Macca is likely to cost even more money and even if you said Peats was probably a fair bit cheaper than the other two, he's also objectively a worse player too.

although i think one reason they are looking at Peats is because we won't contribute any cash to Macca's contract

Considering @1910 was of the opinion last season that Hetherington wasn't even at a level where in absolute desperation he could deputise for 15 minutes whilst we gave Corey Paix, a guy who himself was flat out playing 60 minutes at the time a breather, I'm not sure how seriously he'd figure in our Dummy Half conversations this season.

Peats would have to be incredibly cheap to bother taking him on in place of McCinnes.

well as of right now he doesn't have a contract for 2021 ... so i'm pretty sure they could get him very cheap

I am still believe your hooker needs to be playing hooker. Hetherington has played three ISC games- two at 6 and one at 13.

That's not a great sample size for NRL ready to play hooker. At the time people were calling for him- they'd never seen him play and he was playing BRL for Valleys.

He needs to be playing hooker for Souths every week and playing ISC- but at this stage no I don't think he can play NRL. Might change if he gets 11 games at hooker for Souths.

I said the same thing about Paix and how this wasn't going to work because he wouldn't last 10 minutes and then he makes his debut and everyone says he can't last 10 minutes.

This is why I’m not the biggest fan of feeders. If Hetherington is an out-and-out hooker, then he should be doing so for the broncos reserve grade side. We need to have control over the future of our players otherwise what’s the point of having anyone of them on our books as position x, if he’s getting bounced around by his ISC/BRL clubs in positions not that?

I haven't personally seen him play and I definitely wasn't suggesting you were wrong at all.

In fact I was using what you'd said to highlight that he probably wouldn't feature in our Dummy Half calculations for this year given how certain you were last year that he wasn't up to NRL standard at this stage.

Knowing you'd obviously seen him play and If you didn't think he could handle even 15 minutes in the role, even when those desperate times meant the alternative was to push Paix through 80 minutes or use someone like Tesi Niu or Jamil Hopoate to relieve Paix instead, then had had to be a VERY long way off being ready.

Griffin prob gave him an ultimatum with that sloth drawl of his.

McInnes gladly obliged and said go **** yourself.

so thoughts on the Latrell Mitchell to Broncos rumour?

he has reportedly turned down Souths 3 year; $2.4 million deal. his manager saying they only want 1 or 2 years deals

more from Mitchell's manager:

“If we can’t do a deal with Souths, there is genuine interest in the Broncos,” Mitchell’s representative said.

“They are one of the biggest brands in the game and Latrell almost joined them as a teenager.

“Souths are a great club but there’s no doubt the Broncos are a massive brand.

“When they aren’t on top of the NRL, they are a sleeping giant and it is only a matter of time before they bounce back again. The Broncos are arguably the biggest brand in Australian sport.

“We’ve had expressions of interest from just about every club in the game. Now we will see where things land.”

Kevvie won't comment:

“Our recruitment-and-retention committee has made a decision not to speak about any potential signings,” Walters said.

“I can’t comment on this one, we’re playing cards closer to our chests this season.”

Wayne Bennett:

“Latrell is happy at Souths and we are really happy with him, so we’re hoping he will stay,” he said.

“We’re still negotiating but I hope he stays, Latrell is great to have around the club.

Would solve a problem at fullback for sure.how far away is walsh from fg from those that have watched him play?

I wouldn't want him at fullback ... IMO, It's center or nothing

Love Walters comments, loathe the thought of Mitchell at the Broncos.
