Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2021

I'd take Mitchell under two conditions.
1 - He is not allowed to get fat, ever.
2 - He cuts all ties with Mundine.

we've always had a big war chest for 2022 .... you just need to look at it logically to realise this.

we get Bird's full salary; Macca likely gone and if we retain Milf, it will likely be on a smaller contract. that alone would give us $2 million to spend
Oh we definitely had money coming for 2022 but it’s funny how they’ve changed their tune as soon as a potential signing is suggested. The good old 2+2= $5M trick

Need to start getting use to this type of rumour...

Ive noticed these things start appearing 12 months out when player managers identify which clubs will have the most cap space.

We are one, hence the rumours.....im sure there will be more too...

True... just like every player was linked to the dogs last year

It has already happened, Broncs have been linked to (from a faulty memory):

AFB
Cherry-Evans
Papalii
B.Smith
C.Smith
McGuire
Hunt
Mitchell
Ponga

Latrell will just be another overpriced, lazy, injury prone player that blows up in weight whenever he gets a few weeks holiday. It’s probably Mundine telling him to play for Broncos. He wants the stature that comes with being a Bronco, he doesn’t want to play for NRL for the Broncos exactly.

Not sure I’d want him. There are always other options. He probably wants 1 mil a season too.

Playing for the Broncos used to be code for playing for Wayne. He's already playing for Wayne. He's already where he should be.

Not sure I want the most punchable face in league pulling on our Jersey tbh
Have to correct you here Harry! For me, most punchable face(s) in the game are Mitchell AND Wade Graham! That shit eater grin🤮

Really? Graham seems weirdly likeable for a Shark.

Cleary’s head is the one that gets me.

I've made a list of players whose contracts end this year (could be up to three more depending on the contracts announced for final spots in squad):

Arthars
Asiata
Coates
Copley
Dearden
Glenn
McCullough
Mead
Milford
Niu
Palasia
Riki
Te'o

Player Options:

Oates
Staggs
Turpin
That's 16 contracts we'll need to figure out and potentially a few more depending on the lengths of the final unannounced signings. Let's hope our contract and negotiating team perform a little better than we are used to under a new CEO and coach.

Arthars (I'd re-sign)
Asiata (hopeful he does well to re-sign)
Coates (re-sign)
Copley (minimum contract or just release)
Dearden (re-sign)
Glenn (retired)
McCullough (release or low $200k contract)
Mead (retire or release)
Milford (re-sign on lower contract... likely somewhere in the 600k-800k range)
Niu (re-sign)
Palasia (minimum contract or just release)
Riki (re-sign)
Te'o (retire)

Player Options:

Oates (he wont be going anywhere. Is it PO's until end of 2022?)
Staggs (re-sign)
Turpin (ball's in his court... I'd say he's on $300k so if he brains it then he'll be due an upgrade or may look elsewhere. Otherwise he may just accept his option)

Others I'd suggest will be on 12 month contracts
Kennar (release)
Gamble (minimum contract or release)

Yep, all three of the POs I listed are for 2022 season only. I wouldn't be upset if another club gives him a better deal and he doesn't take up the option, but I think that is wishful thinking.
Doubt he gets a better deal... I think he's on 400k-500k

Anything is possible with Anthony Griffin’s early onset Alzheimer’s making him think it’s 2014.

Dragons have gone cold on izzy , what's this mean for macca ?
