If Drinkwater learns to tackle he’d be a good replacement for Mifl. Though it would be a very inexperienced halves pairing.

Agree with previous sentiments. He can't expect to have it both ways. He had the choice to try and find another contract, be it with the knights or whoever but wasn't able to so he activated his clause with us. Shouldn't then be able to take backsies because a better offer has come along.
Sounds like he doesn't want to be in Brisbane so they should just let him walk and make St george pay his owing salary if they want him that badly.

But we’ve already paid some of this years salary and we need the depth. Simply covering his remaining contract still isn’t a good enough deal for us. Player swap or nothing. Give as Dufty/Lomax/Ravalara/Hunt/McInnis for a year or too bad.

Wishful thinking that they'd give up any of those guys for him particularly Lomax, ravalawa or hunt (they're trying to move dufty on it seems but doubt they'd let us have him). We would likely get one of their no name players as payment

I don’t think it’s wishful thinking. It is what it is, I am happy to keep Macca, I wouldn’t accept anything less. Macca is useful and leaves at the end of the year anyway. We have all the negotiating power.
I think Dufty would be a pretty mutually beneficial trade. Lomax seems to have their fullback spot nailed down.

We've paid him for October, November, December and January. 4 months, or 200k. At 400k I'd rather keep him for depth/injury cover. Who could we possibly sign by freeing up 400k?

Dufty would be an interesting trade. I rate him and think he has the potential to go up a level but even as he was last year, he'd immediately be the best fullback in our team. Player swap for a year, see how he performs in our colours.
He's apparently on the outer so it's definitely a possibility.

He only has this season left at the dragons. Better than languishing behind Lomax, he can come here for a year and earn his next contract and if he learns how to tackle maybe we think about offering an extension.
As you said, he provides far more in attack than Isaako. Maybe they could even do the old hide Dufty on the wing in defence trick and let Isaako do the hard work.

It’s pretty simple, he has to take responsibility for taking up his PO, it’s not like he didn’t know where he stood at the club.

I think if we let Macca go it’s more likely we get someone from the sharks, because McInnes would be going to the sharks. For no money, Moylan could be worth a shot.

Piss off Macca. He wants an extension now, so he can just plod around with out working for it. he’d have that security and suddenly there’s more to life than footy.. The clown needs to remember he was unwanted by the maroons, the broncos last year and the knights. He’s in absolutely no position to make any requests.
