Promote Cobbo at first opportunity and drop Coates. If you don't wanna be here long term play ISC and be depth incase one of the other guys who want to be here gets hurt.

The Broncos went through about 2 years of very mediocre and inconsistent Coates and just when he looked ready to finally start to live up to his potential, he ends up signing with the Storm.
Good for him to get a good contract at 20, shit for the Broncos to develop him for someone else once again.

With Coates gone I'd be looking at Gagai, Opacic or Kris. Gagai would need to take a pay cut first though, because he's on a reportedly big salary at Souths. in fact we could probably afford 2 of them.

if we go for the 2 cheaper options, we may even be able to afford an experienced back rower also.

I’m not sure if dev deals are the same as top 30 but by my math, he is with us until the end of next year making him approachable in November this year.

whilst I'm not for punishing coates cause of his decision based off the fact he is good. I believe this would actually be a good option considering we would get hynes away from potential suitors. But it is unlikely

It's not a good contract that's the point that is worrying. Like I completely understand the players that have left for money they are just disloyal but he left for a better system to actually quite a uncompetitive offer and well off market value
