We had no option though who do we play instead of a Munster who has been out for a month? Or even Grant who was also coming back from a month's lay off.

Yip about the only person I could praise in a maroon jersey last night was Foutiiaka (not sure on spelling) but he never let himself or the team down with his effort. The rest, were quite frankly - on a jolly it seems.

Give it 2 or 3 more years and the contest will be a lot closer
2 or 3 more years starts to see some of their players hitting their 30's (Teddy, Cook, Jurbo, Frizzel, etc.)... Cleary looks a constant for the next decade, but what will Turbo's health look like in a few years and how many injuries would he have copped by then.

Compared to QLD when JT, GI, CS9, etc. were all pretty well established superstars from their early 20's onwards.

I think QLD have talent in the spine with Harry, Munster, Ponga, Walsh, etc. coming through and could have some backs and forwards coming through as well... don't think it's a fait accompli that NSW will dominate for the next decade.

Last year's win to QLD probably shut the door on them beating the 8 straight with some of the players coming through for qld

Don't think we will see 8 in a row by either state for a very long time, even during that run of 8 there were games where NSW were clearly the better side but the class in our spine was too much for them when it mattered the most.

All QLD needs is just a couple of good centres and an injury free run, because the depth just isn't anywhere as good as NSW has.

Should have been Mahoney from the beginning. Grant was never ready for 80 minutes of origin.

I think if we lost last year it could've started getting close... NSW wouldve been on 3 and it's already looking like a drubbing is on the cards this year.

Grant was garbage too, **** me we had some bad players out there last night.

He didn't get any sort of momentum through the middle, it was step and pass every time, at least promote it a metre or 2 and then pass so your forwards are coming onto the ball with a bit of momentum and a defensive line that isn't camping on the forward who just received the ball.

He certainly was made to look a fool by making room for Holmes and Feldt.

Holmes pushed Brimson to the bench (Brimson was the fullback last series, when we won).

Feldt was god awful, he committed a ridiculously stupid penalty early on which handed NSW prime real estate to score their first try and there on after he didn't really do anything else.

AJ was only fullback in game one. We had three fullback last year.

he's wrong in this case ... and i always take what he says with a grain of salt.

we need 2 maybe 3 key position signings ... we have one so far
So will that make us the team we want and need to be or just give us better players? Will help - no argument - but there is more to it - I have to agree with Gus on this one.

I can't see it turning around, Paul Green is a shocking coach in my opinion and I know how that sounds given he did win a premiership but I am putting that premiership on the class of Thurston.

I think that was the year where they made all those late comebacks and stole the game from the jaws of defeat, you can't actually say they were the better team, even in the GF that was literally how they won it. It's my belief Green got the gig because every other QLD coach was locked away in some capacity with an NRL club.

Qld would annihilate them

Spine of Billy, Lockyer, JT & CS9 contains 2-3 immortals and a hall of famer.

GI and Folau in the outside backs, plus prime Petero, Parker and Thaiday across the forwards.

It would be an absolute hammering... so from that aspect it would be a great game to see 👍👍👍

Hmm, I don't think so.

I think it would follow the typical formula - QLD edge it out in a close one game one, NSW strike back with a convincing win in game two and QLD find a way in a decider. By a field goal perhaps.

NSW's team this year is one of the their best ever imo. How often did QLD absolutely hammer a NSW team that paled in comparison to this one? Not too often.
