Take this with a grain of salt but Robert Craddock posted these exact words today. I haven't found him particularly reliable but for what it's worth:

"Hooker Jake Turpin was captain of the Broncos a few weeks ago but now he is dealing with the fact that the club are close to signing Canberra rake Josh Hodgson."

He also reminded us the club is still paying Jack Bird to play for St George.

Is Ricky is adamant he’s not leaving than where are we somehow getting the release from. I don’t see this as reliable from craddock. Just interest though, whereabouts did you see this?

I honestly can't fathom why Canberra would fight to keep him. He's not the player he was and increasingly injury prone and they have a guy waiting in the wings who must be getting desperate for game time.

Getting out of Hodgson's deal at this point would be excellent business for the Raiders. I'm not saying we shouldn't take him, we absolutely should roll the dice, but our circumstances are very different to the Raiders.

You are right I should of been more descriptive and specific in what I was saying, I was more referring to Milford being an entitled half in that second part.

There were whispers coming out after the 2017 GF that Croft was put in his place by the Storm senior players, mainly Cam Smith, due to his poor attitude thinking he was king shit. That wasn't the only time there were rumours about his poor attitude.

It's honestly a sensible outcome for both clubs, but Stuart is oddly stubborn to a fault so it wouldn't surprise me if it all falls over and Hodgson stays and spends half of next year injured or sharing minutes with Starling.

Even in his early days at Melbourne, I thought Croft looked a bit too tightly wound / trying too hard.. always gave me the impression he was trying to be an exact replica of Cooper Cronk.
