If "Macca " is the future I would much prefer hodgson. These young kids need to learn their craft off experienced and proven 1st graders, not battle players who are just starting their NRL careers as well. 3 years from hodgson would give us enough time to debut him slowly and see if his skills continue to develop. Paix and/or turpin can provide some added competition and depth.

It's a filler story that's just joining these dots you already know:

The Broncos are trying to do a deal with the Tigers which involves TPJ in exchange for Simpkin and Billy Walters.

Billy is off contract in three months- why would you do a deal for him? Simpkins is signed until end of '24 and just signed the extension why would they change their mind a few weeks later and not want him?

Sorry, I meant as good a plan as we used to have, wrong tense. I have full trust in Donuts and Ikin, and I really like the three recruits we have coming on board, all target an area of need. I also haven o issue with our outs other than the way Kevvie has handled it all to be totally blunt. I feel like management has gotten their act together even if it won't lead to being a contender for a year or two yet. Even so, I feel they are trying to understandably work around Kevvie as opposed to working through him.

It makes me sick to think of all the money we will be paying to other teams next year for ex-Broncos to play for them.

DD and Ikin need to ensure that we no longer put ourselves in position where we are subsidising players for other teams, but more importantly, need to ensure that the marginal benefit we get from shipping a player like Lodge is worthwhile.

I like Lodge and I think we should have kept him ESPECIALLY if we are paying half his salary for the next 2.5 years anyway, but the move can't be judged in isolation... What is our plan for using the money we saved by offloading Lodge? Did it go to Capewell? Surely we have more room in the cap than that...

The constant flip-flopping, back and forth from Walters just muddies the water and makes things worse - as from the outside it looks like the club either has no clue as a whole, or Kevvie has no clue what the others in charge are up to.

It's going to take a fair while to fix this whole mess, let's hope DD and Ikin are up for it!

Maybe an unpopular opinion (probably been discussed here already) and I'm not sure what the asking price would be but I'd be happy to offer Tolman a 1 year deal, provided we're not paying overs.

I think he's one middle on the market that could offer our pack the grunt work we need without the thrills. Would be a good pro for guys like Flegler to learn from on the training paddock too.

At worst he's got a ton of experience, isn't a flog and would be handy depth. With Lodge gone and TPJ heading for the door, we need to at least get another serviceable middle forward that doesn't break the bank (like Finucane might).
