Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2021

In the good old days of the maccas cards, i can say i know for a fact that a certain islander on our books ( not the million dollar half either ) used to go around and hit up 5 or 6 maccas a day to spend his $20 a day limit at different stores as the $20 was only per store. I dont think its racist to say they like their food any more than people used to level the same thing at the Coaltrain.
You can also do this with the Broncos burger from Macca's when we score over 19 points.

“All islanders are lazy”
Is racist. Just stop.
Yes that would be a text book description of racism I believe. Also I don't think anyone said that?

Talented but not the hardest workers is a trait that has been pointed out about the Warrriors players before I think. Could be a thing but need to adjust for just how over represented Islanders are in the playing ranks, sure there would be more lazy Europeans if they were talented enough!

No, it's called stereotyping. Is it racist to say Asian people are smarter or black people are more physically gifted? Just because an accurate assessment on a race is negative, doesn't make it racist. Big difference.

Call it what you want, it's an unhealthy outlook and school kids suffer so much bullying cause of these "harmless sterotypes"

Yeah, but back in my day the Tongans, kiwis and assorted other islanders bullied all the smaller white kids, so who cares.

..and that's a reason to not improve our culture because?
Dude it’s like telling a sheep shagging joke about kiwis. humorous stereotypes don’t really matter and should not be censored/banned/taboo. Try to see the funny side of them…Or be miserable…No skin off my neck.

Today's game makes me think that Niu can certainly make a fist of the fullback spot in the short term and we have enough options for the six, so we REALLY need a 9, that is the difference for me as to whether we are an outside contender next year or just a mid-range team. Donuts and team are going to need to get creative now Hodgson seems off the table.

I don’t know what everyone else is thinking after that game with the future of the team but I’d be looking at getting this team on the paddock. Keep in mind I do think kotoni should be centres but it’s inevitable that he will play 6. My team is as seen below:
  1. Tesi Niu
  2. Corey Oates
  3. Dane Gagai
  4. Brenko Lee
  5. Herbie Farnworth
  6. Kotoni Staggs
  7. Adam Reynolds
  8. Tom Flegler
  9. Jake Turpin
  10. Payne Haas
  11. TC Robati
  12. Kurt Capewell
  13. Pat Carrigan
  14. Cory Paix
  15. Jordan Riki/ Kennedy/ Palasia
  16. Ethan Bullemor
  17. Brendan Piakura

  18. whilst my opinion will probably change in a week, considering players contracts and who needs to go this is the side I am going with. A couple more signings like Watson or James would be handy but I quite like this side anyway. Dane is the only addition and he brings everything you want and need from an outside back he would be a great pick up and I think with the team above would almost have to guarantee top 8 if they get there shot together in
I reckon cobbo will be pushing for a spot somewhere next year.. centre, wing or fullback. I'd like to see them put staggs at 6 this year at some point to see how he goes

You don’t have tell us who, but can you tell us if his name started with an A and ended in a lex Glenn?

Ha ha, wasnt Lexie. Tbf fair to him, he doesnt exactly look like the kind of bloke that likes his junk food. I dont think the forward who it was is going to be here much longer.

Do we hold out and make a play for B.smith for 23?

Reason I asked is I remember Glenn saying, very openly, that earlier in his career he would smash take away every day and only noticed (surprise?!?) how much better he performed after he stopped fuelling his body with absolute shit.

I’m picking up what you’re putting down, Mr. Pangai Junior 😉

Also @Sproj to be clear, I’m not talking about / this has nothing to do with race, I’m talking about eating shit food 👍

That would be my preference, sign him for 23 on November 1 and then let Donuts and Tripp into he boxing ring for an early release.
That's the best option I think brings plenty on and off the field and has age on his side only seems to be getting better aswell.. I don't think we have many options for a player swap for a early release so boxing match sounds the go
