I think it all depends on our 6 and 9. If we go with Staggs and Turpin we need a ball playing 1 , ideally Ponga. Otherwise I think tesi and Cobbo would be fine if we can get an attacking 9 /6 or both.
Paix needs to start in the 9 next year. He’s worth putting some faith into. We won’t see the best of him until we put full faith into him to be our 9. From the start of the pre-season Kev should be openly saying Paix will be our 9 to start the season. I’d prefer that then confuse everyone and pretend there’s competition for spots. I think certainty would help a lot to start the season. This goes for fullback and five eighth too, let’s decide in the pre-season who we are backing to play there and stick with them for longer than 2 games. I’d say if that’s who you’re choosing to start the season with, you should give them at least 5 games to show it can work.

Is anyone else confused as to why badel is under the impression we don’t have money to go after tpj. We literally just got rid of pangai for his whole contract didn’t we? Where have those funds supposedly gone
This post has confused me, that’s for sure.

We don’t have money to go after TPJ? Assuming you mean someone else?

Anyone want Rapana? He’d be a pretty good buy I think. He could fill in at fullback but imagine the combination on the right side.

4. Staggs
5. Rapana

Nah I don’t think his personality is the right fit for us, also getting on a bit and a bit rocks and diamonds. Having a blinder tonight though.

If he wasn’t asking for much cash then I think he’d add some experience and confidence to the backline to match Adam Reynolds.

Hmm? Can’t give me a yes or no answer on that? Because the answer is no?
It doesn’t matter anyway cause the idea was flawed, your still thinking Staggs is playing the the centre’s. He is so obviously not.

Gamble or Kelly with a proper pre season under his belt would suit the 6 if staggs remains at centre, good early ball to staggs and gagai. Kelly would provide more of a cody walker like role.
Cobbo and Nui you can work with to get that ball playing into their game I think Cobbo has it more in him then Nui.. get karmichael and Darius to teach them they were some of the best at it in their prime.
A 9 that knows when to run and read the play is something that's not easily taught, so I think 9 should be the priority.

Totally agree with the Walker brothers even as assistants look what they did with that Ipswich side with the limited resources they had
Walker bros radical style would never compliment any nrl coach so I doubt they'd ever be considered anywhere in the nrl as assistants. It would be all or nothing and to date (nrl) it’s been nothing.

It's been mentioned on here about chasing Joseph Manu.
I think he is the fullback that the Broncos should be looking to recruit for 2023. He has all the skills needed for fullback and I love his never say die attitude.
Unfortunately I just don't think Niu, Isaako or Farnsworth have what it takes to be a top tier fullback.
Cobbo could potentially develop as a good fullback in time but he could also be a good centre or winger.
To have the class of Manu would make all the difference and these days fullback is such a pivotal position that you really need a gun there.

Hooker, well that's another issue that needs to be sorted because Turpin has shown us what he's got and to be honest it's not what Broncos need to threaten for a premiership in the future.
Brandon Smith would be a great pick up because his high energy and never say die attitude is definitely needed and I think he can be a game changer for us.
Surely some money is being freed up to be able to recruit spine players that we so desperately need to put Broncos on the path to being a top 4 club again.
Wouldn't that be awesome!!!.

So we have trade this

Glenn
TPJ
Lodge
Coates
Milford

For this

C Jensen
Capewell
Reynolds
Lee
Pereira

Plus depending on what you read and when you read it we have enough in the cap bank for a good to elite signing which could be Gagai.

Now if you'd told me that 12 months ago along with extending the likes of Riki, Staggs, Piakura, Robati and Farnsworth, getting DD and Ikin sorting out our roster and cap situation I'd be very happy. Definitely moving in the right direction.
