He’s a good runner/support player but a game manager he is not, and my 9yo son can kick the ball further than him.

Maybe he could do what Burton is doing and tear it up in the centre’s. There’s a good footy player in there somewhere.

Burton has very different attributes to Tom. Burton has a lot of power and decent size. Tom would be monstered in the centres, and in constant threat of being tossed over the sideline.

Not that it’s relevant to centre but while we are comparing Tom to Burton, Burton has one of the naturally biggest boots getting around. The guy can smash a kick 60+m without even looking like he’s trying.

You’re right, but the kid can play. Where else could he go? I feel he’s too small for fullback too. If only he could kick.

He’s a tiny 5/8 who can’t kick. Maybe touch footy?
Ryan Gosling Lol GIF

Yeah, but we have probably gotten better since he left, and the cowboys have definitely gotten worse. He’s back to the bench / reserve grade next year.
I like ragging on Tim, but to be fair it's not like we as a fanbase have experienced that many more wins in the last two years.
I tell you who has an even worse record: Herbie Farnworth. 8 wins from 38 starts, and only 8 tries as a centre/winger, where most of the scoring happens. He really needs to get his shit together in the off season because someone has to notice how ineffective he is before too long.

lol come on. The guy gets the ball with no space and still manages line break regularly and often has one of the highest run metres per game. The guy needs a spine.

I suspect Dearden was offered a starting role this year in order to prove himself and try to earn a starting spot for next year, a head start on the others of you will.

On Bullemor, the club may not want him to go, but won't be pressured by another young player trying to force our hand. If they don't want to stay and develop, we don't want that attitude so they are free to leave. Better money, starting position, if it doesn't fit our plan we shouldn't just cave in.

Gets the ball in the middle. Settles it. Doesn't pass. Nothing happens.
Rinse and repeat.
Herbie is on notice.

Or trialled at fullback. He’s good defensively so that’s already a plus on Niu. He never stops trying, that’s another plus on Niu. He can run as well as anyone and has shown the ability to support play. The only aspect Niu looks better is playmaking but even then, Niu also has a tendency to ball hog.

Is 8 tries for centre in 38 games even that low? Especially when only 8 of those were wins and most the rest were flogging?

Farnworth is far from the biggest positional issues at the club. I do think he’s probably a better winger though.

Yeah agree, he has a new 6 standing there next to him every week and Alex Glenn as the backrower that couldn’t bust bubble wrap let alone a tackle.

One thing I’ve noticed with Herbie is that he’s always trying and putting in effort. He’d make a good fullback.

Cobbo is our future fullback in my eyes.
Looks like a natural footballer, moves well and reads the game nicely.
Much better option than trying to manufacture a fullback.

Unless we could get TTurbo (which we can’t), I’m all aboard the Cobbo train too.

I could so easily be wrong, but I just get the feeling (and have absolutely nothing to back it up with) that he’ll be an absolute freak in 3 or so years time.

Gees I hope I’m right (and of course, he stays with us).

The guy really does need to learn to pass though, lol. He’s great at everything but passing,
He's pretty useless as a centre. He can't pass and can't find the line. All he does is barge it up like a forward, ignoring everyone else.

2021 Tries and Appearances

Farnworth 2 from 17
Staggs 4 from 3
Arthars 5 from 11
Niu 5 from 13
Isaako 6 from 18
Mead 5 from 11

He’s our weakest outside back.
