when you take into consideration the shape of their squad/cap with the players in the forwards retiring etc. I can see where the argument could be made but personally I still think it is a bit far fetched to think that they would let Tedesco walk.

As far as the racist comments goes,, If you think the Squid Game comments Tedesco made is in any way shape or form comparable to the dossier of shit Pearce did in his career then you are grasping at straws…

Its not as bad as Pearce, but its not like he is some cleanskin either. Racism isnt a good thing to have on your rap sheet.

From what i heard anyway, even if its true, they arent letting him walk because he wants to leave, it would be more they have a top line replacement already there in Manu and they can use his salary elsewhere. I doubt it would be an option if they didnt have Joey Manu.

I think it was more a cheeky comment, obviously I wasn’t there so I don’t know aha but I find it hard to believe Tedesco is some full blown racist.

To be honest though the more I think about it (the contract situation) the more it makes sense haha. Stranger things have happened I guess.

You arent stupid, you know its not quite as simple as you are making out. There was no way on earth he was staying to play second fiddle to Cronk and Keary. He could have stayed, but i doubt any established half in their prime in his position would want to be a backup player. I dont doubt he had a sook about being replaced by somebody like Cronk, i think a lot of players would as well tbh in his position.

He could have done a Hancock and stayed and backed himself but he didn't have the confidence- that's as simple as it gets.

We will never know what he could have done or what role he could have played if he'd dug in and said cool I can learn from Cronk.

But he wasn't the victim.

Hancock made the right call for him, but I really dont see many in Pearce's position doing that at that stage of his career. I'm not saying it wouldnt have been a good move on his part to learn from Cronk, but he would have been about 31 i think once Cronk hung up the boots and at his age i dont see him wanting to stay.

You are just arguing he was a bit of a sook, which he was, but i reckon most players who had a career like he had at the time would want to be a starting 7 even if they were sooking about what happened. We also dont know and arent likely to know what was said to him behing closed doors. For example, If Robinson made it clear Keary and Cronk were the blokes he wanted to go with, i wouldnt have blamed Pearce for wanting a move. Players generally want to play NRL if possible.

The elephant in the room is that fans were supposed to believe that the Roosters could afford Pearce's salary on top of signing Tedesco and Cronk on huge money.

Then they supposedly didn't have to foot any of his bill when he was on a search for a new club and clubs just had a million lying around for a rainy day.

Meanwhile the Bulldogs pay TPJ close to a million and yet the Broncos are footing a part of that?

They do have some very questionable deals. I'm still pretty sure Pearce got nudged out of the door. Everyone knows how they work.

Which fans believe that though? In the media it is all just laughed and winked about and we move on.

Also notice as well how the media tries to promote 'the Rooster's way' and how it's all about the culture of the club. In 25-40 years time, if the game is still around, that's the legacy that's going to remain and anyone with an opposing view will just be looked at as a 'hater'.

Big Pete saying this too. The ultimate (in my opinion) non-biased, clear-headed poster on here. I'm shocked, excited, and frankly a little turned on.

Journos were really hoping the Dolphins would lure more than just a Brenko Lee, Brenko's a good player and I mean no disrespect to his credentials but just from a clickbait perspective I can say with confidence they were hoping to see a Herbie or something like that jump ship.

The latter along with Brenko and Isaako.

Essentially the coach, development coach, media manager, finance manager, digital, events manager etc.
Because they were all so good at their jobs...?
