Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2023

The reason you mentioned with Cleary and the grub is exactly why they lost Katoa as well. Any good young half at Penrith know they are getting probably at a minimum 7 or 8 years from those two and as you said, more likely 10+ years. You might get a young half going their for 12 months to learn for a while, but thats about it.
you can throw Burton in there aswell

It’s definitely a more enterprising signing than the kHunts, T Roberts, Gambles, Walters, and Kellys of recent years.

Paying closer attention to tigers games it also looks like Tamau still has a little left in the tank. Could see him doing a good version of what Ryan James was meant to do this season. 20 minute stints off the bench, be a leader of the young forwards.
those signings were for much needed experience and were used for stepping stones considering our fucked cap
think bringing khunt back could be a huge blessing in disguise , as he seems to be going well on the coaching side of things. will be very interesting to see how he goes at souths next year, Niu may be a big beneficiary of it to.

He's had some good touches in the NRL. He's got a nice short ball and knows how to create numbers on the edge. He's one of the better depth options we've signed in a while. I don't have any issue with the signing.

I wonder if learning from Reyno is the reason why he came.
Better then learning off brooks 😂

Our shithouse spine defence was the real star in that.

I saw Madden wrong foot Reynolds then spin it wide for a try .
Madden slip a short pass on the edge where Reynolds defends for a line break , then show high level eye hand co ordination and balance to back up and catch a bad pass . Followed by a bomb for his outside backs to contest . That led to a try .

Coach Reynolds may be put out to pasture earlier than we 1st expected .

That’s up there for top 5 worst takes of 2022.

Very Surprised Madden left Tigers he was going to be their 7 long term.

Wonder if we will use him as a 14 next year as well.

I agree. Nepotism or not BW shouldn’t be playing 9 let alone be in the 17 every week. Same goes to every non performer. If anyone let their guard down, they can kick the stones on the side or go back to Q-cup to pick up form.
Kev’s soft approach has to deadest stop from the get go. It’s not in him but he HAS to be ruthless in laying down the law.

Who should be playing 9 instead? He was brought in for the lowest amount whilst we fixed the rest of our cap. Who else was available? He shouldn’t have been playing 9 because Turpin and Paix should have been better, but they weren’t. It’s their fault Walters is the hooker.

Oh, I ain’t talking about the season that we screwed up towards the back end. I’m talking about the season that’ll start in 6 months time.
Ikin has to find someone/any modern day 9 from the Q-cup/Premier League/Park footy or somewhere I don’t care. He’s the moneyball man. Will have to find one surely.

On the 9 front we should be signing one, putting Mozer in the top 30 next year with such little Qcup playing time he has had would be completely reckless.
