Given the links and club, no doubt if this is true there'd be some kind of religious undertones to their reasoning for him to go there...

Well that's it! I'm gonna call Zeus and the spaghetti monster, who are known broncos fans,and get them to make all of the bulldogs player's current living relatives have some form of bad luck within the next 150 years! That'll prove they are the one and only gods and then haas will come back out of fear!

Reynolds, Walters, Piakura, Hoeter, Mam, Riki, Madden and Capewell all come off contract at the same time as Haas.

I dont think those guys are as big a priority as Payne.

I personally think he's shopping himself around to lots of clubs. With him saying he wants to stay here and win that premiership with his mates, He could easily have just told the club what he wants and we could have made a decision from there if we could afford it. No need for him to go to market like what happened with Patty ( who just got his deal done and it was still big money ). At the moment, we are a bit of a safety net for him. If nobody else stumps up the money he wants he knows we will. Its what Staggs did. I would honestly just offer him a good deal and if its not signed by the time he can go to market i'd move on. We dont need another contract saga.

He's been doing some consultancy ( whatever that means ) i believe at Belmore. I remember Gus got him down there at training to talk to their players. Not sure how involved he is.

just for a split second lets assume he signs somewhere else for 2025.

I'd first have a chat to Tino to find out if he is interested in coming here (if he's not then this is a moot point) ...

Then assuming we can get Tino, I'd offer Payne a release to join his new club early. of course this is only if we needed the cap room to sign Tino

I always thought it was a bit weird his relationship with Sonny Bill and Mundine, but then you see his management team and i do wonder if it all stemmed from them introducing them.
