It is worrying that Payne is yet to be extended. Sounding more and more likely that he will go to market. Whether it’s a ploy to get us to pay more, I’m not sure. I’d struggle to see any other NRL clubs offer him a better package then what we can offer him.
The thing that annoys me is all the talk around Tino and Fifi being so committed to the tits, that they don’t want to go anywhere else. Why can’t Payne show us similar? Much like what Carrigan has done?
Hopefully he sticks around but I’m less confident as time keeps ticking towards November.
If it’s not us, fingers crossed he goes to union. I couldn’t bare the sight of seeing him in another NRL jersey.

This picture screams "virtue signaling". Like, "quick take a picture of us praying and being pious". Instagram posting religious messages is so weird in general.

In terms of Payne, I really hope he thinks for himself in terms of all his decisions. Tying all these different things together as part and parcel, (i.e., being a gifted athlete, making a lot of money, being muslim, etc.) just isn't sensible. Could have just as easily been Israel Folau and Haas converts to Mormonism or whatever kooky religion trip Izzy is on.
