Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2023

So, clearly Kev doesn’t want the gig beyond next season hey? He continues to annoy with his shit & dumb decisions. Basically, he wants to surround himself with “Yes, men”.
I know a coach should have HIS say in the coaching department but evidently that doesn’t apply to our coach due to his …………….Why can’t DD & Ikin mandate who the Assistant should be for Kev is beyond me
Oh No Reaction GIF

you're continuing to prove yourself a bigger fool than you believe Kev is.

Kev could sign Bellamy as an assistant and you'd whinge about it

Oates only one year? That's a weird one.

I like it...but wasn't it reported that we'd signed him for 2years a few weeks back? I remember there being a bit of hesitation from a few members about him slipping into his old ways.

1 year deals are good for Oates. Practically cruised for his first 2 years of his last mega deal before pulling his finger out this year because he was off contract. Maybe the cash incentive of 1 year deals might be beneficial to make sure he doesn't just clock off. **** a few players could use this incentive (im looking at you staggs)

Easy there…….. you have your opinion of him & I have mine.
If Kev is smart enough to sign Bellamy as an assistant, f*** yeah, I wouldn’t stop whinging about it. Any issues there?

I think if he has a good start to the year they’ll table another one or two-year deal to him early, particularly if he makes origin

Yeah my guess would be a money thing, he obviously took a pay cut for this extension but it was probably a bigger pay cut if he took a longer deal. If he goes year by year he can be paid going on form.
This works well for both parties.

That's a better signing than the 400K pa over 3 years deal that was reported earlier. He's earned his extension, but to sign him beyond Adam Reynolds' deal seemed short-sighted. This deal ensures he gets paid fairly and gives the Broncos some flexibility to prepare for life without Reynolds. That consideration has to be as important as achieving success with Reynolds, if not moreso given Adam's limitations.

1. Walsh
2. Oates
3. Farnworth
4. Mariner
5. Cobbo
6. Mam
7. Reynolds
8. Haas
9. Hetherington
10. Flegler
11. Staggs
12. Capewell
13. Carrigan
____________
14. Paix
15. Robati
16. Jensen
17. Riki

18. Piakura
19. Mozer
20. Niu
21. Palasia
22. Willison

That’d probably be my line up in round 1 next year without allowing for any releases / signings.

I can’t watch another season of Riki and Staggs paired outside of Reynolds. Gotta split them up and simplify both of their roles. I’m sure Staggs can be just as damaging running the ball in the backrow as he is at centre. Riki just needs to use his size and power for us doing basic hit ups through the middle. Hetherington starting the game at 9 provides composure and tightens up our defence.. Then we can bring on Paix after 20 mins and give him as many minutes as we like while having the option to shift Hetherington to 13.
