Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2023

I think we should consider signing A FiFi. Controversial i know, but he has a hard hard edge.
Would he fit into the team mentality we are trying to build? Not in my opinion. Plus he is on the major decline and has been for a few years.

Yep, 1 win out of the 8 this year and any other year that many wins would have firmly seen us in the top 8.

So the sky is clearly falling and it's time to start playing centres in the backrow and locks at hooker...

Brilliant plan, eh? Why stop there though? Why not put Arey in the front row and Corey Jensen at fullback...

just because someone has played a position in junior or even reserve grade level ... doesn't mean they can or should play that position in the NRL team. especially when it's better for both the player and the team that they play a different position.

Yep and an example of this is Andrew McCullough, he was a 6 in the juniors but you couldn't imagine him there at NRL level.

Marty tapau and jordan mclean are available too but might cost a bit more
McLean is a great buy if we move Haas on - probably overkill if Haas stays though.

I’d like to see some more experience in the forwards if Haas doesn’t go

- Crichton
- Tamou
- Su’a
- Arrow
- Collins

Look nobody is arguing that they can’t play those positions. None of us are stupid we can remember 3 or 4 years ago when they both came onto the scene. Kotoni hasn’t played second row for that long and is no longer built like one and Kobe at 9 could barely get himself a q-cup game. In there current positions one has played origin and the other one at times has given Pat Carrigan a run for his money in us discussing him permanently taking his starting spot/forcing him into the front row. Not to mention you are just not making the side any better by your proposed changes. We haven’t even gotten on to the fact that Deine Mariner eveidently showed he isn’t up to scratch at this level quite yet in his career. Don’t be so defensive when people disagree with your outlandish opinions.

Throw Horsborough into the mix too.

While I rate Horsborough he isn’t experienced. He’s played like 20 games less than Flegler.

Speaking of Canberra though, you reminded me -I’ve said it a few times but we should definitely make a play at John Bateman.

He would be such a perfect signing for multiple reasons
I reckon bateman would be great too but he'd also be given the "broncos" treatment by the ref and the judiciary. He'd be suspended about 19 weeks a year

Man of Steel should have been Jai Field, he is easily the best player in that comp.

Should have been Welsby imo, I dont know how Croft won that. Field and Lolohea were better than Brodie as well.

Jake Turpin played half back for the Broncos ,,, remember ?

Then there was the day Uncle Wayne made Jack Bird a # 7 .

Jack Bird had played a fair bit of NRL at 6 prior to that (which is pretty much the position he played, just withy the 7 on his back)
