Max Plath a Bronco in 23.

Plath kicked the field goal that won Wynnum the Colts last year.
He was coming back from injury too- had the whole year off last year came back late in the season so to play a part in finals and then be playing Cup at start of 22 is pretty impressive.

He was captain of their MM side in 2019 as well.

Had a good first year in ISC. Good communicator and pops up everywhere- wonder where he gets that.

"BREAKING: it is understood from an internal source that the broncos have tabled a multi-million dollar contract to Cameron Munster. In efforts to have the contract signed, the broncos have aligned additional third party arrangements."

I was listening to Choc Mundine on Spanian’s podcast and he was talking about his stint at the broncos during the super league days. He was talking about how much he was getting paid a good amount for the era, $300k I think he said. But he said something else that I didn’t quite understand.

He was like “I shouldn’t say this but it was years ago now” and then went on to say he was secretly getting another $100k a season on a second contract. I couldn’t figure out who was implying gave him that money - the broncos or the super league organisation.

During the Superleague war, both sides paid players loyalty/sign on payments depending on their profile in the game above what the club would pay them. Mundine and Tallis were big signatures during that period so not surprised.

Actually a very good example of why he's come to be noticed by Brisbane. He played 14 ISC games for Wynnum this year out of Colts last year.

Showed great running skills all year.

Wynnum's Colts were white hot and only lost two games all year- gun side again. This game against Tweed was Plath's third game in Colts all year.

They lost week one of the finals in a major upset and then week two had to play Tweed and they won but Plath came back, played off the bench at hooker, scored two tries and kicked 4/5.

Says a bit about him he was happy to come back to Colts and play any role the team needed.

A famous rugby league name at the club, Plath was destined to join the Seagulls, with his father John Plath, who also played for the Brisbane Broncos, a standout performer in the red, green and white.

“(How I got started in rugby league was) I had two bigger brothers, and my older brother just wanted to play,” Plath said.

“We used to play soccer, a lot of kids play soccer coming through, but I think it was Dad pushing it, in my ear, but I would much rather be playing league than soccer.”

As another poster said previously, you don't need to check, just look at him, he is John's kid for sure.

I'm really happy about this pick up, I have been REALLY impressed with him in the games I've seen him in this year. I genuinely think he is a really, really promising half, could eventually replace Reynolds.

Nice. Excited to see him in the 13, I thought he was a big enough body to play there.

Will be good if he sticks around and we try mold him into a 13, would kill it in the middle of the field.

Would be a line up of Mam 7, Walsh 6, Cobbo 1 and Oloapu 13 would have strike everywhere.
