Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2025

The balance of our squad concerns me. We’ve got the following in halves and hookers locked in for next year.

Reynolds, Mam, Madden, Rogers, Black.
Walters, Mozer, Smoothy, Paix.

9 of the top 30 taken up.
Can we **** Paix off already?!
Have him join Baker & Hunt.
The trouble is, none of them are first graders.
While we’re at it, let’s pick either Madden or Rogers to fire into the sun too…

Did anyone catch Herbie on The Bye Round (James Graham)? Paints a pretty ugly picture for or R&R department.

unless he did another James Graham podcast, then it's hardly an ugly picture

we've been trying to.

he won't leave and is happy to stay as 4th string

Now that I think about it, what’s the story with Selwyn?
Staying/going?!
His pea heart performances of late are not what we need.
Incredible talent, but mentally weak as piss.

Interesting comment about how The Dolphins pride themselves on the hard stuff and effort areas like kick chase, line speed, working from marker etc and he's never seen that before in other teams he's played for.
Disappointing TBH

That was horrendous listening (only listened to the signing for the Phins section):

For those that don't want to listen:
- Wanted to stay, didn't feel like there was a pathway for him here. Felt he was just going to be doing the same old here, no feeling of development.
- Didn't feel wanted at the Broncos. Felt more wanted at the Dolphins. Hinted at money, but reiterated that the plans and feelings of being wanted were more significant at the Phins.
- Heart was with the Broncos, but now it's been 'class' and he is really keen to work under Wolfe.

Get paid good coin to do nothing?
Train, stay fit, play park footy?!
Pretty sweet gig.

only if you're happy for this gig and this deal to be your last. doing what he's done has put at risk future NRL deals. he won't get a new deal from us, and I can't see how he fits at any other club.

besides i'm sure we would have chipped in a little, so probably wouldn't have had to take too much of a pay cut

Allegedly Moses told Eels yesterday they will look to exit early.

Except his career will be over in about 12 months time
He'll be 25 when his contract finishes and probably go to super league.
According to zero tackle he's on 320k, even if it's high 200s why would he leave unless he is almost guaranteed a top 17 spot.
The number of hookers in the squad really is a thorn in our side, not being able to use that cash to improve our backrow stocks.

If NRL allow him to just walk in and demand that they let him leave early then they need to take a serious fucking look at the whole transfer shit across the league.

He signed a 4-5yr deal last year and now he wants out and Parra will get nothing from it... Parra likely lost Sanders because of him signing that deal and Brown's contract is apparently full of PO's.

Moses should not be able to increase or change his contract at all for the length of it... should be able to move to a different club via a trade, but they take the full contract on and Parra should be able to get something back.

I thought he had get out clauses around Brad Arthurs coaching tenure.

Isn't Paix still owed his entire contract??

Unless the club and the player agree to mutually terminate the contract then it's all scratched off... but if the team is pushing them out they still need to get paid what they're owed.

If the new club wants to pay him $200k then Broncos have to take on the remaining $120k, but Paix still gets paid what he's owed.

Him not being able to find a new club and new contract wouldn't mean that he's not getting paid his full $320k, just means he's got nothing lined up after 2025 and he's not played in the NRL since middle of last year
