Did he sign the new contract before the grand final? I'm sure no bottom 8 club would have wanted him after that performance... you're mixing up your years like you mix up your points. You didn't debate one of my comments, just went on about something that is irrelevant so you don't sound wrong...
Again, clubs would prefer walsh over grant? Alamoti off the scrap heap and a good year like hosking and tmm yet clubs didnt want him bcos they didnt wantbhim before the good year just like them 2?
I get you have your contacts but your bias towards them often blinds you. You dribble on about irrelevant points like you have proven what I said wrong, but you haven't even commented on what I am saying. I am not saying they shouldn't be loyal or that the Panthers and storm didn't do well with them, what I am saying is that they should have (and probably did) get ridiculous offers from bottom 8 clubs, just like our players do after 1 good season. The problem with the salary cap is these clubs aren't forced to pay more for players, I am not saying the same price, they've earned that through success, but you if a club is offering me $500,000 more a season in certainly going back and AT LEAST asking the question about the possibility of a bit more off the Panthers or storm. And you are living in fairy land if you think that isn't the case.
I will try again.
Grant and Alamonti weren't off contract, they didn't get offers because they chose not to get offers.
Grant or Alamonti could have walked into their CEO's office last week and said I will be taking my skills elsewhere on November 1 for 2026. I will be trying super hard in 2025 and giving my all but in 2026 I am dust.
Grant signed his deal in 2022 with 2026 in his favour, he could have not taken that up last week and come November 1 his phone would have started ringing with offers for 2026.
Alamonti signed for 24 and then extended for 25 and now has extended for 26 and 27. Again, he could have said come November 1 I will be talking to other clubs for 2026 and not signed his new deal.
Could you imagine that conversation- as I have tried to give you context as to why he would be staying but I suspect you didn't know he was rescued isn't the 'gun' you keep saying he is.
"Hey Ivan Paul, here, look in 2026 I will be taking off like a rocket and going to greener pastures.
"I know I know, it's been great, but I am a pretty big deal and I just don't think Penrith can hold me back any longer.
"So, November 1 I will be taking massive offers from around the world I am going global."
You keep asking why they didn't get offers because they chose not to get offers.
Hosking played four games for the Broncos on a train and trial from Wynnum, so your good year is a mild stretch. Broncos didn't want him on full time, and he took another deal so not sure why that's relevant.
If Walsh doesn't get a deal done before November one, he will be able to talk to other clubs about 2026 too and just like Harry and Alamonti would have got offers if they'd waited.
Harry's would have been a lot easier because it's already there it's just him saying yes again. Walsh is a whole new deal and a big increase.
Alamonti would have been easier again, who the hell in his position wouldn't take an extension before November 1.
