I just heard the updates on the radio.

All they kept saying was the Broncos scored again. [icon_lol1.

All the boys were outstanding today. They didnt look like losing, they led 16-0 after 16mins!

However I though Alex Glenn and Josh McGuire had real strong games and the halves Kahu & Hunt were more than handy.

The win puts us in good stead for the finals I think.

The boys are definitely ready to give the finals a decent shake now. They're pretty much in the same position (in terms of the ladder and form!) as the big boys.

Wow! The Broncos have the best for and against in the NYC! A win over the Knights next week will guarantee a top 4 spot. (Eels and Warriors are 1 point ahead and play eachother).

With another pre-season under his belt Josh McGuire will be pushing for a 1st grade spot next year imo.

What time does this game kick off on Friday night?

The Titans game kicked off at 5.20pm, so I'd say it'd be the same this Friday.

sweet, thanks. I might go straight from work in that case. How fun!

It would be great to see the Young broncos hold up the first Premiership in the Under 20's comp. Much like the Broncos won the first NRL premiership!

Totally agree. He and McCullough are the two who I'd pick to go on to big things.

I'd add Yow Yeh and Gerard Beale into the mix, but they might not be as likely as those two to go onto greater heights.

Regardless, the amount of improvement these two have shown over the course of this season is phenomenal. They are developing really, really well and might only be half a season away from taking the step up...

NRL Chief Executive David Gallop today said the Toyota Cup has proven itself to be a blueprint for success against rival codes.

In just one season the Toyota Cup has captivated fans at grounds and on television and today the NRL honoured the stars of the groundbreaking competition’s success with the naming of the Toyota Cup Team of the Year.

Rising NRL stars Chris Sandow, Lachlan Coote, Justin Carney, Jordan Rapana and Tony Williams are among the members of the inaugural Toyota Cup Team of the Year, which will now become an annual tradition as the competition continues to grow in the years to come.

The team – voted for by the 16 Toyota Cup coaches – features 10 players who have played a total of 72 games in the NRL this season, with nine clubs represented in the 17-man squad.

Each member of the Toyota Cup Team of the Year will receive a $2000 education grant in addition to the grants clubs already receive for education and workplace training.

The inaugural Toyota Cup Player of The Year will be named at next Tuesday’s (September 10) Dally M Awards at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion, while the player of the Grand Final will receive the inaugural Jack Gibson Medal.

“The quality of football in the Toyota Cup has captured the attention of everyone in the game,†NRL Chief Executive, Mr David Gallop, said today.

“It is a unique competition in Australian sport and already it has established itself as a stepping stone for elite junior players to the NRL.

“When fans are looking to see where the game’s next stars are going to come from, they only need to look as far as the Toyota Cup, and players like Chris Sandow, Jordan Rapana, Tony Williams and Masada Iosefa have proven that this season.

“Congratulations to those who have been named in the Toyota Cup Team of the Year and best of luck to all those clubs competing in the upcoming finals series.â€Â

Toyota Cup Manager, Mr Michael Buettner said: “It is a quality team that showcases the depth of talent in the competition and its status as a leading development pathway to the NRL.

“In its first season, 52 players have graduated from the Toyota Cup to the NRL.â€Â

Director of Fox Sports Channels, Mr Tony Sinclair, said the Toyota Cup had won over TV audiences and showcased the exciting junior talent in the game.

“The Toyota Cup has provided a fantastic opportunity for the next crop of NRL stars to be seen on Fox Sports by a national audience every week,†Mr Sinclair said.

“We have also been really happy with the consistent high quality of football each round, which has given Fox Sports’ audience plenty of excitement.â€Â

H/T vs Knights. 6 blot to us. Watene the try scorer.

Win this game and we could move up as high as 3rd. 2nd if the Warriors and Eels play out a draw.

F/T, 18-6 to us with the Knights scoring in the last couple of minutes. Puts us temporarily into second. Worst we can finish now is 4th.

Saw most of the game. It was a solid win and their ball handling, in worse conditions, was better than first graders.

Pretty confident in the talent the Broncos have coming through. Hoffman was safe as a house at the back, Hunt's kicking game found open space, the two backrowers ran strongly and Watene had plenty of impact off the bench. It's a real shame we're losing him though.

Great work by the 20s after a really slow start to the season. A draw between the Eels and Warriors could even keep us in second, if another result (forget which one) goes the right way.

Huge effort and a top four berth is most unexpected IMO. A massive achievement.

Thanks too Penrith lost and the Parramatta and New Zealand draw, the Broncos have stolen a unlikely 2nd position at the end of the Toyota Cup.

Well Done to the boys!

Outstanding effort from the boys and well deserved they have shown their class in stepping up to the plate after a disappointing start to the season. I'm very excited at the potential and the opportunity this side and the players have. I'm looking forward to the likes of Hunt, Hoffman, Mcguire, Yow Yeh, Tupou and McCullough in action in the NRL in the near future.
