Broncos Vs. Cowboys - Build Up Thread

Nah, I can live without him for another week. With Gillett we really don't lose much, if at all, by Te'o not playing. It's good to have depth because we don't need to rush players back. He will back in the squad IMO, no doubt but he should just hold till next week, he's more important towards the back end of the season.

Perhaps him and Hodges return next week, who drops off will be very interesting though, Gillett is a super talent who offers that X-factor which will be huge in finals game, Glenn is mr reliable who does nothing wrong and can fill in anywhere then we have Te'o who is a machine.

I reckon Kenny and Glenn will be gone next week, unfortunate but for me Gillett can do everything Glenn does(besides hooker) but offers more of an X-factor. It's a good headache to have, that's for sure and it'll be interesting to see what happens.

I guarantee you that Glenn will be in the team next week.

And unfortunately Kenny too... [icon_non

An upset is on the cards unless we ramp it up a bit. I dont think the Broncos have been 'up' the past two games (in attack)... if we bring our A game in attack we should be the victors.

For some reason our backline isn't clicking at the moment... I'm sure one good night of footy can change it... but we do need to get some cohesion going in attack IMO. Keep up the D... I really smell some 2006 D sometimes... There was a whiff of it last yr as well but it all broke against the Storm... anyway - EVERY game now should be looked at with the finals in mind... none of this week to week bullshite ... as someone said... if we're serious about the finals this year (no reason why we shouldn't be) then this shite starts NOW.

It would be one of the most baffling selections of all time if Glenn was dropped, playing out of position he has been our most consistent performer all year. He never gets plaudits in the centres because he just does the job with no fuss, but got plenty of praise last year when he emerged first as a back row/lock option.

I think Glenn's only downfall is he's presenting bugger all risk to the defence in the centres. His defence himself is brilliant, however.

But unless there's some magical better option in the centres, he stays. And if/when Hodges comes back, Glenn still deserves to be in the 17. I would suspect at the expense of Hunt.

Apparently Te'o is at full fitness so there won't be any risk in playing him this round.

Put Glenn on Wing, get rid of winter, then you can keep gillett and bring in Te'o :)

I remember a game a couple of years back. Broncos v Bulldogs at Suncorp. Lockyer came back from injury that game and the Bulldogs were running last and going hopeless. BHQ called for Lockyer to be rested. But he was fit to play and we still lost. Shows the importance of not taking any game lightly and if your best players are fit you need to play them to give yourself every chance.

I don't think I am taking this game lightly if we don't play Te'o. I don't think playing him is worth the risk of a possible season ending injury.

If he's fully fit though there's obviously no risk. Well, no more so than any other player running around out there.

That game was my 30th birthday, and wife surprised me with a big bbq at southbank and tickets to the game. had a bulldogs supporter sitting next to me giving to me all game. The only redeeming factor was that he was telling how awesome Sonny Bill Williams was as how he was going to be a bulldog for life and win them lots of premierships! Sucker.

The difference is that in that game there were a lot of guys who hadn't played together for a long time, whereas we have had a pretty consistent lineup for a few months. We just need to click in attack and we will put 30+ on those jokers. But then again it could all go to poo as well. I'm tipping Broncos 30-12 or something like that.

Winterstein is out.

BEN Te'o has produced a remarkable recovery from injury and will make a shock return to the field tomorrow night.

It was feared Te'o could be out for as long as two months with a suspected broken foot after the 34-30 loss to the Roosters 10 days ago.

But after training with the team this morning Te'o will travel to Townsville and will run out against the Cowboys tomorrow night.

Antonio Winterstein misses out with a knee injury keeping him out of the game.

That will mean Alex Glenn, Te'o and Matt Gillett - who has been named at second row - will share duties in the centres.

Broncos coach Ivan Henjak said Te'o still had small fractures in his foot but they would not prevent him from playing.

"We've got a few options there, we have three we can rotate through," said Henjak.

"Ben's got a few fractures there but they aren't weight-bearing bones."

"He's moving great and feels great so we will give him a run."

Wow, I didn't know you could have fractures that don't cause discomfort or at least hinder... [icon_shru

I hope T'eo is up to it on Friday night.

But having him, Glenn and Gillett rotating the centres isn't a bad thing. And with Izzy on the other side... Niiiceee :)
