Broncos Vs. Panthers - Build Up Thread

Nah, Hunt is good he should stay.
Sure a forward pack "may" be weaker but our dummy half position is certainly stronger, it's a trade off that is worth making.

Glenn is playing well in the centres. Why change a winning combination?

The Panthers pack is nothing special, especially without Civoniceva. The mob we had on Sunday would do the job.

Feels like such a bradbury competition without Melb.

I don't really rate the Panthers. Jennings seems to be good with space to move but does nothing without it.

Coote is ok, a bit lightweight though.

Gordon seems to be a good finisher but I don't really see where the tries are gonna come from.

Brisbane by 18.

They will score tries if the Broncos give them too much possession in our 20 and Luke Walsh gets opportunity to do attacking kicks.

Starve them of attacking field position and they don't have the class to cause long range breaks.

Yeah but even from kicks i'm not overly concerned.

We've got yow yeh and folau on one side. Winter's not so bad at the highball either.

If that's their plan of attack, shield the takers all day long and reap the 20m play.

A lot of their kicks are from well placed grubbers or chip kicks though, not just the bombs.

Look I agree, I think the Broncos are morals this week again, but at the same time, Penrith have their dangers.

We have Te'o also on the left flank, did you see his third try on Sunday? [icon_razz1

yeah it was right in front of me. ;)

Right flank (direction of attack for the Broncos) but yes, you're right :P He showed good skill getting up for that ball.

With Thaiday back, Te'o should be on the left. eusa_think

True I suppose. Though I still remember Te'o hunting right even with Thaiday in the team. Meh, whatever. No such thing as set positions anyway :P That's the beauty of this current Broncos team, they can pretty much bob up anywhere and to the job.

You know, i really can't see how Kenny can knock anybody out of the team ATM.

I think Sims, Dodds and Anderson have him covered at this stage of the season.

I know what you mean. The awesome part is, Melbourne has been the team knocking us out of the finals the past few years. If we peak at the right time, we'll go mighty close to a premiership this year.

As for our opposition on Friday..

1. Lachlan Coote
2. Michael Gordon
3. Michael Jennings
4. Adrian Purtell
5. Brad Tighe
6. Wade Graham
7. Luke Walsh
8. Tim Grant
9. Kevin Kingston
10. Matthew Bell
11. Trent Waterhouse
12. Frank Pritchard
13. Luke Lewis

Interchange:
14. Masada Iosefa
15. Nathan Smith
16.Sam McKendry
17. Gavin Cooper
18. Frank Puletua

On paper, I honestly don't know how that team is running second on the ladder.

Does anyone know what happened to that Panthers kid with the dyed blond hair who seemed like a real prospect for them?

I agree, but then people could have said that about our team last week, but yes, it certainly is surprising

Forward pack + Walsh + big plays from Coote/Jennings = Second.

Also wins over the Raiders, Knights (x2), Roosters, Warriors, Tigers, Bulldogs and Sharks certainly helped.

Mind you, aside from the Sharks and Tigers (who we are yet to play) we've lost against all those other sides...

Jarrod Sammut?

He's in the ESL under the nickname Jack Sparrow due to his new look.

He's a cult hero over there, he's come up with some awesome tries.
