Broncos Vs. Raiders - Build Up Thread

After reading the CM yesterday I think the boys should be down to earth and enough of them are in the team to remember last time they headed to the nations capital. I think we can hold on for a scratchy win.

Broncos are currently $2.10 outsiders on TAB Sportsbet - Raiders are $1.70.

I'm slightly surprised at that to be honest. I know that the Raiders aren't to be taken lightly at home but I thought tha first up win by the Broncos might give them slight favouritism

Canberra are Monday night specialists and we struggle against them. In saying that i will be taking the $2.10

I think the whole Canberra are Monday night specialists thing is a bit outdated now even though Fox Sports bang on about it still. Two years ago yes they were awesome on Monday nights but I don't think they went anywhere near as good last year - mind you, they seemingly have twice as many Monday night games as any other team so they have plenty of chances to chalk up a win!

Monday just gone they called the Tigers the Monday night specialist.

Alright weather update - Got to 29/30 today and its still shorts and tshirt weather at 9.30 Canberra time. If this keeps ups it shouldnt be too bad on Monday

I would be more concerned if it was later in the season, and I'm backing because of a numbere of reasons
1. Too many spots are up for grabs
2. It's not too cold in Canberra
3. Youth and enthusiasm will still play it's part.
4. A long lay off, Henjack has had a lot of time to bring his charges down to earth
5. Experiance and that 50 odd point flogging. These will al play apart in the game, if we are close near the end we will be good enough

The Raiders will score points, no two ways about it, but after our scare last week I think we will be better prepared. Broncos by 16

Still no Ashton? Even Setu is just the 18th man. We let the cowboys back into the game last weekend when we shouldn't have. So surely there must be an omission from the team last week.

Personally, Dodds didn't impress me much at all.

I wasn't impressed with dodds at all either. He was given the run on front row gig and he hardly touched the ball. Its essential to have four hard running front rowers in the team, I would bring in sims.

I think you're being a bit harsh on Dodds. He was used as a decoy runner or dummied to
at least 5 times in his first 14 minutes on the field. So it's not like he was hiding.
He was super busy in defence and pulled off a couple off bell ringers. He didn't pull off as many big plays as the other two debutants but it was definately a good effort

And it was his debut afterall. Give him another go FFS.

There was an article during the week about DODDS and Ivan was saying Dodds has admitted to not being 100% sure where to be on the field. Its something he will adjust to dropping him to Qcup wont help.

Um, what?

If he doesn't know where he's meant to be, he should go back to Qld Cup and learn.

I think its more ment as where to be in the plays that Brisbane run.

That's what training is for then.

Glad they've got a few injuries atm. especially some of their try scoring players.

Thank you, at least someone else wants to see Ashton back to. icon_thumbs_u

Go and ask an NRL player if a game situation is the same as the training paddock.

Now now Jeb, coaching and training are best left to the armchair critics.
