Coach Ivan Henjak has named a 20-man squad for the game and will delay a decision on his starting side until assessing the fitness of several players involved in Friday night's Test against New Zealand and the City-Country Origin clash on the same night.

Manly are in the same position with a number of players involved in both representative clashes.

There's a slight possibility Henjak may rest champion five-eighth Darren Lockyer but he will leave that decision until after he consults his skipper following the Test.

Thats not what is required [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1.

We need to keep winning until origin comes around. We wont do that by having Locky and possibly Wallace and others on the sideline this weekend!

What's also not required is Locky playing tired, showing even worse defensive technique and getting seriously injured.

Yeah, rather see Locky get a rest. Maybe Ben Hunt can get a game.

rest locky/wallace/hodges let hunt/marsh/yow have a shot

i could handle a loss this weekend if we saw some young blokes play their hearts out.

mmm i believe that broncos can win without locky. If hes tired then let him rest because playing him might risk injury and we certainly dont want that! We cant always rely on him for the magical plays.

Dave Taylor should be in there, hes a bit hot and cold but some of the runs he puts in are massive! Palmer Wapau is not amazing, he seems to be a bit of a crowd favourite though. I wont be too harsh on him however, being that hes played only a couple of games and all.

And im not a fan of Steve Michaels, full stop.

wat is it that wapau plays for redcliff? 6 or 7

He plays 5/8th on occasions....usually a front rower though I believe

3 Jamie Lyon
4 Steve Matai
5 Michael Bani
6 Chris Bailey
7 Matt Orford (c)
8 Brent Kite

21 Jared Waerea-Hargreaves

I think Marsh starting is a good move, Gorrell hasn't really set the world on fire and im a big Marsh fan. I think McCullough definitely has to do an apprenticeship on the bench for another year or 2, definitely not ready to start consistently or play 80.

Would love to know what is happening with Taylor.. at this stage of his development i don't know if playing him as an out and out prop is the best thing.. might have more success as a big back rower.

im personally a big fan of McCullough. I think he deserves some game time.

I reckon McCullough's goal line defence is what cost him, he was terrible. You can't have a hooker defending like he did last game.

new hooker you reckon?? Bring back Kerrod Walters?? lol

Good to see MArsh in.

Don't like the bench. WHat happens if PJ gets injured?

This is the perfect opportunity to rest Hodges and try Folau in the centres.

Michaels or Yow Yeh on one wing

Rest Locky - McCullogh to 5/8

Gorrell to bench.

Agree on McCullough's defence. And therein lies the problem with this mickey mouse Under 20 competition we're told is the best thing since sliced bread. There is NO defence in it. It's not a good preparation for the NRL, at all.

I fail to see why Dave Taylor is being continually left out of the team.

Well he's played two games in Qld Cup, and by all reports his first was average. Not sure how his second went (anyone?) but if he wants a regular spot in the top 17 he should be tearing it up in the lower grades.

I would love Taylor to play the way we all know he can, but it's two different coaches now that have dropped him. Unless he has signed with someone else or has an injury, I think it's pretty obvious there's an attitude problem [icon_shru

Giant young prop Dave Taylor could not even make the 20-Man sqaud, despite having a blinder for the Comets against mackay on Saturday and it is understood he still has to achieve training targets set for him by Henjak

Agree with the thoughts of Lockyer being rested. If it was up to me i wouldn't have him back up after any rep games.

It seems to have out pretty well for Mcguire, Winterstein and Glenn! I don't think you can blame McCullough's defense on the u20s.
