Anderson hasn't done much since the Cowboys game...

Nobody has!!!!! Can't drop Anderson on the basis of that.

Personally I reckon he has shown enough to get the other starting spot with Tronc. Either of him or McGuire I'd like to see in that position.

+1.

The idea of Dodds starting makes me LOL. He makes 2 hit ups a game. Half our problem is lack of go forward and we start a prop who's scared to get the ball? Please.

but but but he tackles really good... [icon_shru

Agreed. Kenny's form maybe ordinary, but IMO hes all we've got.. that says alot about our frontrow stocks.

Which is what I don't understand about Dodds. I think he is a really good young talent, one of the best tackling techniques in the game. If he just took 1 hitup per set he'd be exactly what we are after. I don't think lack of aggression would be a problem for him considering the way he tackles.

Sims has and will always will be a better player then Kenny.

He's either shy to get in front of guys like Thaiday, Parker, Tronc and Te'o, or he's scared (probably of making a mistake).

Parker and Thaiday do run in and take the ball when others are ready but I think Dodds needs to run onto the ball because even when he takes a hit up he goes know where.

He does get dummied to a lot as well, or used as the decoy runner.

Yep we probably are overly harsh on Doddsy but our lack of go forward is a big weakness and we need our props to do a better job. It seems our backrowers do everything at the moment. Doddsy will play Origin one day IMO.

No doubt. He is a good player who at the moment doesn't show enough urgency to get involved in attack. But that will go away as he gains experience.

I think our starting front rower to partner Tronc needs to be someone who shows more willingness in attack which is why I think Anderson or McGuire are the way to go.

I think it should be Anderson. McGuire is a massive liability early on with his habit of giving away cheap penalties, they are bad enough in the 20th minute but you don't need to be giving sides extra sets/momentum in the first minutes of the game.

That's not the basis of my decision. Anderson is a decent metre eater but doesn't crunch opposition players like I'd want my players to. Sims does and isn't afraid to assert himself.

Move Thaiday up and have him play tighter while Dodds comes in and monsters the defence. Gaining ground hasn't been THAT big a problem, our defence on the other hand...

[icon_lol1. Dude, you've flipped flopped so much on Dodds, it's great.

Sims > Kenny.

I think it's a fitness issue.

Doddsy will play Origin one day IMO.

Maybe I was wrong about you Beadsy. :P I don't know whether or not he'll be an Origin player...let's see him start and get the Broncos on the front foot against the Big Kiwi boppers first.

--------------------------------

Our lack of go forward maybe an issue, but a far bigger issue is our inability to stop opposition players in their tracks and assert ourselves in defence. If we can do that, our big name players should be too good for them.

OK, I like Sims, but people need to remember that in the time he has been at the Broncos, most of the time he has been pretty bloody ordinary. 2008 he played 3 good games at the start of the year, then he was shit. 2009 he played a handful of good games at the end of the year, apart from that he was shit. This year his form has been ordinary at QCup level and not much better at NRL level. He is WAY over-rated in these parts. Yes, I have called for him to return to the side, and no I wouldn't argue if he was in the side this week, but dead set Big Pete, I don't know why you are so confident that he is the answer to our problems up front when at least Anderson and McGuire have shown good form lately at NRL level.

Disagree with this. Whenever he actually got a chance he was bloody handy for us. His form at the back end of the year was fantastic, one of our unsung heroes of that time.

I'm not neccesarily saying Sims > Anderson and McGuire in general, just that in this instance his aggression would be valuable.

Can you honestly say a bloke like Kenny has out performed Sims though? Given that fact that Kenny has always been picked regardless of how he plays( up until recently) compared to Sims who IMO didn't get a fair go compared to others. Now I have heard Sims had a falling out with Ivan which is fine but IMO Ivan still needs to pick the best team.

Nah mate, didn't say that. My point was that I think Anderson or McGuire deserve first crack at the starting spot over Sims.

I agree but I would love to see Sims off the bench he always gives us 100% and shows aggression which our pack lacks.

Regardless of what I'd like to see, I think we all know Henjak won't play Sims and at best we'll see Kenny return to first grade.

Anywho, I'm saving my support for BIG DAVE (Hala). He'll be big in 2011.

Run onto the ball? Who? When? Where? What game?

If our forwards did that consistently rather than standing flat footed most of the time, maybe we'd be on 30 pts.

Of course, one does need a good 9 as well to create those plays. Funny.. we actually had one for a short while last game until he got pulled. But then, Henhouse has learned from that and next match, Macca will get 80 mins.

It would also help if our defence ran at the attack, closing down their room to move and giving them less time to think.

It would be so good to have Tunza coaching defence. I would have loved to have seen him actually run at Mateo instead of standing back and watching, and drive his shoulder up and into the ribcage. Ah, how I miss that Tunza.

As for Sims, I think people here short change him. Wasn't he part of the team when we were actually winning? And I remember some very nice hits from him, especially in the game against Souths.

Warriors by 40 if Henhouse uses the same game plan as last few weeks, especially if Hunt is on the bench. Against the Warriors, we need a big bench, not an excuse to pull our best hooker off.
