Should have won all our previous games if it wasn't for the refs and the other teams being a bit better....So for this to be accurate we only need to win *checks notes* all of our next games.
I’m just going to use this as the general 2022 season thread as I can’t find a specific one. I’m off work so I thought I’ll compare the last few seasons by round to see how we’re travelling. I’d like to add the disclaimer that i haven’t looked into this yet so regardless of the numbers, I don’t have an agenda. Also need to point out that round 3 is early days and I understand this doesn’t mean much in the scheme of the season.
Round 3:
2022:
Ladder: 8th
W/L: 2-1
Points for: 39
Points against: 52
Players used: 23
2021:
Ladder: 10th
W/L: 1-2
Points for: 56
Points against: 52
Players used: 19
2020:
Ladder: 9th
W/L: 2-1
Points for: 56
Points against: 73
Players used: 21
Summary:
Conceded the same amount of points as round 3 last season, while scoring 17 less points in 2022. Managed an extra win despite this. 8th is our highest ladder position after 3 rounds since 2017 when we managed 7th.
Surely this warrants a contract extension for the entire coaching staff. The progress we've made under them couldn't be clearer.Round 6:
2022:
Ladder: 13th*
W/L: 2-4
Points for: 77
Points against: 136
Players used: 26
2021:
Ladder: 14th
W/L: 1-5
Points for: 80
Points against: 147
Players used: 22
I expect these stats to look much better in a few weeks though. And one more win then last year!Round 6:

Yeah we've actually been pretty unlucky to come up against the Roosters and the Panthers back to back, especially when it seems we've only just started to gel as a team. I'd dare say those two losses would be different if we played anyone not a top 4 quality side. Suddenly the start of the season wouldn't be looking so bad. But over the remaining rounds I think we come up against some more favourable teams, so hopefully we can string together some good wins and continue building towards a top 8 spot.I expect these stats to look much better in a few weeks though. Yea we just need to make those games against the crappier teams count. That loss against the warriors sucked.Yeah we've actually been pretty unlucky to come up against the Roosters and the Panthers back to back, especially when it seems we've only just started to gel as a team. It probably doesn't seem likely to some that we can make the top 8, but besides the Panthers, Storm, Sharks, Eels, and potentially the Roosters, there is a pretty big difference in quality between to top sides and the rest. If we can be better than the likes of the Rabbitohs, Manly Cowboys, Titans, Knights, and Warriors, we are in with a chance. Based on our performances for portions of the match against the Panthers and Roosters, i think we could beat most of those teams also vying for a top 8 spot.
So for this to be accurate we only need to win *checks notes* all of our next games.
